That’s like mixing peanut butter and chocolate except the peanut butter is something called Jiff.

So… it tastes good?

No, Jiff is some knockoff you’ve never heard of and tastes sort of peanut butter-reminiscent but not like real peanut butter.

EU peanut butter, if you will.

Unless TLJ & Ep. IX prove so stellar that they make up for its flaws and elevate it above itself, I’ll likely never watch TFA again. Still, my desire to rewatch TFA is greater than my desire to read the same warmed-over anti-TFA diatribe over-and-over again.

A friendly bit of advice: If your argument includes mentions of “fan service” and “Mary Sue”, it’s safe to say it’s all been said before, hence you can spare yourself the effort of saying it again.

What can I say? She got really into the lore (old EU too, obviously), had red hair at the time, and you can make a reasonably accurate Mara Jade cosplay by just reaching into her closet and pulling out four or five random articles of clothing. It was kind of a no-brainer when the “What SW character should I dress up as?” question came up.

I just don’t understand why some people want to change people’s opinion or belittle them for difference of opinion.
I don’t like TFA but anybody who does is just fine.

I’m glad to hear this. I was getting the feeling I was the only person on here that didn’t like TFA that wasn’t completely unbearable.

It’s the loud ones who are unbearable. I know plenty of reasonable people who disliked TFA and I have no problem with that. I even agree with some of the complaints!

I don’t much like TFA, either. Don’t care if anyone does, though. Different strokes, different folks.

friendly advice: you should get used to it, because you will hear it a lot, because besides “fan service” there is really nothing significant to say about this movie. seriously, poster for tfa should be in encyclopedias right next to the term “fan service”, because you really cant find better example

So since it’s already been said, why not just say nothing at all? It’s been said here over and over anyway so it’s adding nothing new.

Yeah that’s not even close to what I said.

The repetition is boring no matter what. Objectively, this post would be just as pointless:

“Star Wars is one of the best films ever. It is a true classic. The story is fantastic and excellent.”

It’s just more loathsome and sickening to read, “This film is shit. I guess I see how some people like it but it’s because they can’t comprehend why the film is shit.”

I was wondering why did Ren kill Tekka instead of interrogating him like later with Poe? As much as he knew, Tekka might’ve been the only person to know of the map. What if he didn’t find Poe after killing Tekka?
Also, how did he know that Tekka gave the map to Poe? Did he read Tekka’s mind? Tekka might be old, but doesn’t seem to be weak-minded (except when he goes straight to them to get captured 😄 ). So, did he read Poe’s mind, instead? That would be odd too, because he later has to interrogate him for quite some time before he can get the informations he wants.

For the first part of your post… I took it as both Tekka and Ren knew that Ren wouldn’t be able to interrogate that information from him - whether that is due to Ren not having finished his training / skills - or Tekka having some knowledge (of the force) to be able to resist him. So if Tekka would not give Ren the info then Ren would ensure no-one else would be able to get it from Tekka…

It wasn’t made clear enough though - if this was indeed the case.

Re the second part - Ren knows and acknowledges that they have captured the best pilot in the resistance in Poe - so he likely knew that was the reason Poe was on Jakku - to meet with Tekka - likely re the map / or Skywalker’s whereabouts…

Just my guess at it.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

I think Tekka’s ribbing about Ren’s family pissed him off, so he killed Tekka in anger without really thinking about it. He probably assumed he could search the village and find some clues, then Poe appeared and he figured Tekka gave Poe the map and thought “Oh, cool, I didn’t fuck up that bad” and took Poe to interrogate him.

That’s my 2¢, anyway.

Yeah, Ren is a bit of a hothead. Doesn’t really think things through.

I think it’s kinda that, but I think it’s also possible he’s aware that killing Tekka might draw out any lurking Resistance heroes - which is of course exactly what it does.
