Chewie’s introduction in the cell is one of the few changes I’d really like to see in even a ‘soft’ fanedit like this. It’s basically a plot hole that Chewie isn’t captured, since 3PO says ‘Lando Calrissian and poor Chewbacca never returned from this awful place’.
To make it work…
To make it “work” all Ady has to do is remove the audio “and poor Chewbacca” so Threepio says ‘Lando Calrissian never returned from this awful place’ and wala! … no more plot hole.

I’d like to see Dr Teeth, Lips, Ralph, Zoot, Janice, Floyd & Animal replace the Max Rebo band (maybe Max could stay - do have a soft spot for him).
The more Muppets in Star Wars the better - a mistake which largely contributed to the failure of the Prequel Trilogy.

Why does it not work? Threepio is a freakin blabbermouth. They’re not going to tell him their actual plan. Threepio only assumes Chewie never returned either because he’s out of the loop on what has actually been happening or because they straight up lied to him.

You joke, but I was actually serious. Carrie Fisher did actually have a drug problem, and having a single long “coke nail” actually is a real thing that really is used for that, which pulls me out of the movie a bit because I don’t imagine Leia getting addicted to Spice. And I seriously don’t know what could be wrong with Yoda’s puppet in Jedi. Max Rebo, yes; but not Yoda.

I honestly think he can’t make the deleted scenes work YET, but by the time he’s done he’ll have figured it out.
Spicediver’s Dune Alternate Redux simply inserted selected deleted scenes despite the quality, but I know Ady wouldn’t stoop to such a low. 😉

Nice simple change. Fixes lots.
One thing that bugs me about the rescue plan is how Boushh brings Chewbacca in largely unbound. Yes he has a chain around his neck but his hands and feet are free. Unless the neck chain is some kind of magical Wookiee restraining bolt he should be ripping people’s arms out of their sockets to flee. They knew this in ANH but seemed to forget it in ROTJ. It’s also pretty clear that it’s Chewbacca and not Boushh who takes out Jabba’s guard in the entryway, so why doesn’t the Wookiee snap the diminutive bounty hunter’s neck?
Seems like a dead giveaway that the Boushh exchange was a poorly thought out and executed attempt.
