It’d honestly be weird if it didn’t cover at least one previously mentioned story beat (most likely either Kessel Run and/or getting Falcon from Lando). I really don’t understand this “how dare they show something that’s been talked about before!” attitude.

I mean, sure, you don’t want to see everything we know about Han and Chewie come into place in one movie. But at the same time what makes more sense, that a big event in a chronologically previous film would be mentioned in a later one, or that it wouldn’t be mentioned at all? If you don’t show at least one of the big pre-OT Han tales, it’s kind of like, what the fuck’s the point?

Lando’s closet when he won the Falcon, obviously.

Lando got the better end of the deal of course because he used the opportunity to switch to capes.

Cast Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, and Kurt Russell as three of the previous owners, make it a black comedy, and I’m sold.

Or make a horror movie about a bunch of people who went slowly crazy on the falcon because of something they picked up and the last shot of the film is of lando coming across the ship and seeing a hand print on the window. The thing driving them crazy gone mysteriously along with the bodies of the owners. The ship landing seemingly by itself on the dock on cloud city. Setting up that maybe there is something outside of the force…lovecraftian eldritch abominations that look at the force and laugh at its impotentence.

Should, but I’m having serious doubts they ever will.

Hypothetically that’s what this could be. We’ll see how far they take it (rumor being that Lord and Miller took it too far).

The spinoffs should be a way for them to experiment with other genres. They almost did that with Rogue One (but didn’t actually).
