Exterior: daytime
Space port
After a job well done, HAN and CHEWBACCA step off their new ship. The camera pans across to show FAN SERVICE “94” in relief on a nearby wall. They stroll through the crowds, brushing shoulders with LONG SNOOT who mutters at them in an alien dialect.
HAN: Well old pal, time for a relaxing drink before we earn a few more credits. With no strange characters, badly planned escapades or double crosses!
They walk into SEEDY CANTINA as a pair of droids are seen leaving just off camera.
PROTOCOL DROID: How rude! At least things can’t get any worse…
(canned laughter and possible wacky freeze frame)
IRIS WIPE to CREDITS

Kathy can send me my check later.

Chewie was already at the bar when they walked in though. He and Han had obviously been in there for a while.

Hell, you don’t need a special edition for that. Just get the EU to whip up an implausible retcon to explain the discrepancy and you’re set.

Anthony Daniels doesn’t care about plot holes, he just needs his fee

I wouldn’t mind seeing Bollux.

Fixed that for you… Probably sums this film up pretty well, If it is good then I will be happy but I can’t help but feel this will be really bad.

Remember how ATTACK OF THE CLONES changed Slave I’s colour-scheme to include a lot of BLUE compared to how it looked years later in ESB?

Well, it seems like the Falcon’s exterior is also getting a similar make-over in this new HAN SOLO movie…along with some new ‘cargo-hauling’ action -

And where are they getting their info from? I can’t imagine Lucasfilm disregarding that the Falcon had a cameo in ROTS.

Kenner toyed with the idea of a ship that docked in the front of the Falcon, but it never made it past the prototype.

I liked the idea the MF had a history before even Lando owned it. It certainly wasn’t a brand new ship in the Lando novels. Maybe we’ll finally see the elusive escape pods mentioned in the original film?

That little Kenner ship has to be the inspiration for the Phantom from Rebels.

I can’t find a picture of it doing it, but it slots into the back of the Ghost in much the same way.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that!

Anyone else here read the Millennium Falcon novel? According to that it was in a serious accident and had to be rebuilt with a lot of parts from another YT-1300 freighter (like about 1/3 of the ship was replaced). So she could look like new for Lando, but she isn’t a new ship. And she shouldn’t have that ROTS paint job. And L. Neil Smith first mentions the Falcon in his Lando books with this line, “My Millennium Falcon’s only a small converted freighter, and a rather elderly one at that, I’m afraid.” So there is no way the Falcon should be new, but it probably shouldn’t look quite as beat up as it does in ANH.

Wait, I always thought the ship in ROTS was a different ship with the same design?

The one landing on Coruscant is supposed to be the Falcon. Whether it had that name at the time is anyone’s guess. There are three similar ships seen in AOTC when the refugee transport lands on Naboo.

The argument against the Falcon being new is we don’t see similar ships anywhere else in the OT. There can’t be many left still operating. Even the Rebellion doesn’t have a YT in it’s fleet of old beat up ships.
The wear and tear probably accumulates faster when you’re doing smuggling for the likes of Jabba.

The Legends timeline had its date of manufacture as 60 BBY. Considering you still see cars from 1957 and before on the street now and then, I don’t have any problem with that.

Boba likes to tinker with his ship. A repaint along with other modifications?

Han could also have had the markings removed at some point.

I wonder if there will be Hyperdrive or engine failure when Han Solo wins it from Lando.

It would be funny if Woody Harrelson’s character is on the ship and it just dies or won’t go into hyperdrive in a time of crisis. He could give Han a funny look, like wtf? Han could say, “It’s not my fault.”

Can’t wait to see this.

^ reminds me of the Dark Forces game (possibly Shadows Of The Empire?) of yesteryear - pixelated stormtroopers that could hit things (us!) 😃

Intriguing pic…

I was just going to ask: why is Ron Howard tweeting a picture from a video game?

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Well, Han’s boast to Obi Wan did involve the Kessel Run.

I don’t see the connection to Sean Spicer but I’m sure it’s there somewhere.

ooh… So I guess we’ll be going to the spice mines of Kessell. Can I assume we’ll be smashed into who-knows-what? And maybe make the Kessel run in whatevertheheckhesaid?
I know some people love this kinda thing…

That’s exactly why I have little enthusiasm for this movie. At this point it just looks it’s just going to cover story beats mentioned previously. It may even be fun to see but ultimately will be forgettable and inconsequential, kind of like Rogue One.
