What about The Empire Strikes Back?

HEY GUYS IT USED TO BE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE NOW IT’S CLOSER TO THE END SO WHAT DOES THAT MAKE IT?

Depends. It’s presently my favorite SW movie and one of the two great sequels ever made. But if the Han Solo movie sucks, I’m wiping my Harmy flash drive and throwing out my BDs, and then it will be a useless mid-end preintersequel.

Just go ahead and send those to me.

You’ve been watching Rogue One since 1996?!

That is one great 80’s video cover 😃

I love these type of retro covers…

Those CBS-Fox boxes are awesome. I remember when they were current. Fantastic work with these retro covers of late. That one has to be my favorite so far.

Does anyone else miss the CBS/Fox logo fanfare at the beginning of a Star Wars video? Rewatching an OT LD recently reminded me how much I associate it with Star Wars.

I can almost reach out remember the feel of the old type of paper they used for vhs covers back then 😃

Ha! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2hChR9-naU

There were some great old intros for many companies pre-film/video back then - and seemed to have a ‘rawness’ to them (likely the bad video sound quality 😃)

For all our varied opinions of movies, it’s hard to dispute that we live in a time when a great many of the films we love weren’t possible at this level, even just 25 years ago. It’s an incredible amount of work that goes into films these days.

There are more important things missing.
Title crawl discussion aside, why didn’t we get the STAR WARS logo itself?
This film deserves it more than anything filmed during the previous ~20 years…

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

I’ve only seen R1 once, but I didn’t miss the opening text or the logo.
If it looks n’ feels like Star Wars, I don’t need a big logo telling me that it’s Star Wars. The PT needed that logo to remind people that these films were something they were supposed to like.

Sure, this doesn’t ruin my viewing experience (search my posts: I love R1).

It’s just that while I can understand (albeit I disagree with it) the reasoning behind the “no text crawl” decision, I completely fail to grasp why are they so bent on separating the “Anthology” films from the Episodes: the logo, the title (why not the simple “STAR WARS: Rogue One”? note how there’s no “Rebels: The Star Wars Story TV Series”) etc.

It only adds the fuel to the “it’s Disney’s Star Wars” crowd.

I think it made perfect sense for a sidequel (or whatever they want to call it). Unfortunately it’s not a sidequel, it’s an ANH prequel, so I feel like it would have made more sense to have the logo and crawl. But with that said, it just fails to bother me.

It’s not an episode. Simple as that. The reasons explain themselves.

Hence no Episode IIIandthreequarters.

But it is still STAR WARS universe, dammit!

Compare with STAR WARS: Rebels logo. Not an episode either, yet…

Frink should totally have that on the crawl when he edits R1 15 years from now. 😉

Awesome. I think this is the first time since Jurassic Park that I’ve found the CGI BTS interesting!
The 3D model of the Jedi city is impressive. I love how they showed that it was used for different shots by rotating the model to different locations.
And although I don’t buy Tarkin being anything other than the effect he is, it is a very impressive effect and I buy the character all the way, which is the goal in the end. No different from Yoda*.

The real OT Yoda. Not the PT cartoon Yoda.
