It’d be interesting to hear you guys’ feelings about crime. Today I’ve scared myself silly by watching a succession of YouTube videos about murderers, abductions and people trafficking. I’m obviously aware of the horrific things which happen in the world but I’m lucky enough to have never had to imagine them happening to me or my loved ones.
I live in a rural area on the south west coast in the U.K. The population is generally low and generally not involved in serious crime. It’ll happen so infrequently that when it does, it’s a big deal.
I know this will sound staggeringly naive to some of you but that’s sort of my point. To me, living where I do and pretty much not having to deal with crime at all, is normal. But what goes on where you live? What’s your normal?
Wherever we’re from, we’ve all got different levels of what we consider to be normal caution about crime. Should everybody, regardless of where they live, be worried about crime or should we only think about it if it’s affecting us?
