Thanks. Alas, it’s more like Cool character that barely was in the movie 😉

Shame they all but edited out Moroff, Bistan and Pao (and that U-Wing pilot) - I like to think they had a bit of an A-Team vibe going on there 😃

Plus, I feel for a bit for the actors playing them in that heat/conditions, in those costumes & makeup, trying to keep cool and do their scenes well - only to not appear as much as we’d hope… and then not even in deleted scenes!

An A-Team style group in the Star Wars universe? I’d pay to see that! 😃

Some familiar scenery outside of Galen’s apartment on Coruscant?

Note the skyline on the left has changed since AOTC. The Empire’s been on a building spree.

Cool reflections in the Tantive’s cockpit window I didn’t notice before.

Guess Bail’s ship in ROTS was a different model year. 😉

In the EU it was retconned into being the Tantive III, which makes sense.

Not enough people read the EU.

This would make a good fanedit fix. Replace the video with audio message only. Mask the correct controls over the ROTS one.

The Jedi are all but extinct.......

Somehow PT ships had glass cockpits, and everyone decided to revert back to good old buttons and switches by the time the OT came around. Makes no sense.

I didn’t know there were any vampires in the Rebellion. 😉

That’s why the door was stuck. They knew Vader was coming, and hoped that he could defeat a vampire. Best case scenario was that they both killed each other, but alas, only one threat to the rebellion could be dealt with this time.

Does anyone have a link to some alternate hi-res R1 blu ray covers for Rogue One? I got the standard US version, and the red TIE lasers are really getting on my nerves. I’d settle for the same thing with green lasers.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

There are a few cover a few pages back in this thread, as well as in here - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Rogue-One-PosterPromos/id/50710

Hopefully there’ll be a few more custom covers in the http://originaltrilogy.com/discussion/DVD-Covers-Disc-Labels-and-Other-Fan-Artwork/id/20 thread too…

as well as a few custom covers in the google images search and art sites like deviantart.com etc 😃

I finally got to sit down and enjoy my blu ray of Rogue One tonight. I love this movie more every time I watch it. Even characters that I felt were lackluster (such as Jyn and Cassian) have grown on me a lot. And I flipping love Baze and Chirrut, Guardians of the Whills (that is still SO cool).

I will say the hoops they have to jump through to actually transmit the plans get rather convoluted and are maybe a bit too much. But it’s not bad enough to hamper my enjoyment. Oh, and my wife pointed out that Jyn and Cassian amazingly have time to change out of their imperial disguises and back into their regular clothes while in the vault as K-2SO is fending off waves of Stormtroopers.

But man, that final battle is just spectacular. I can’t get enough of the x-wings, y-wings and TIEs! So much of this film feels like some of the best EU material from the mid '90’s renaissance. Stuff like the X-WING novels, the X-wing computer games, Jedi Knight, etc. It’s great!

And Darth Vader is pitch perfect in this movie. Sure he doesn’t look EXACTLY like he does in ANH, but it’s close enough. And his witty sarcasm is exactly the kind of thing he would say to imperial officers in the OT. And his final scene is just wonderfully fun for anyone like me who has always been a rather obsessive Darth Vader fan.

IIRC, the original film already established that Imperial uniforms magically fit over one’s own clothes, boots and all. 😉

Yeah it wasn’t so much that as it was, “when the heck did they have TIME to do it?” They were in a mad rush to find and retrieve the data file while K-2 was simultaneously helping them search and fending off wave after wave of troopers. At least for Luke and co. it happens in a moment of relative downtime when they aren’t actively running from troops.

It’s not a big deal, just a funny little observation.

Heres my take, I think they did it to lighten their load because they knew they were about to be climbing and felt more comfortable in their lighter weight outfits.

My only two gripes, which have been addressed by others here in the forum, were the lack of stormtrooper continuity and Vader’s actor. In the OT, stormtroopers had to be roughly 6’-6’2" and weigh around 180-200. In R1, they were a hodge podge of body types and heights. Hell, there were even some fat troopers. Not a big deal, but an attention to detail SNAFU none the less. But the biggie to me was the actor who played Vader sucked! His gait was wrong, his hip swivel was not a Vader trait, his body type was not Vaderesque. More attention shoulve been paid to who wore the Vader suit. This guy had skinny legs, hyper extended knees, narrow shoulders (maybe it was the shoulder armor), flat chest etc etc. His battle scene movements werent too bad though. Spenccer Wilding, although a big guy like Prowse, had a more slender swimmers build than Prowse. Prowse had a more square body type which gave the appearance of more girth throughout. Oddly enough, Hayden Christianson did a better job in the Vader suit that this guy.

In spite of Leia’s wisecrack, there are short troopers in the OT.

I didn’t notice any fat troopers in R1, but I can imagine Troopers out in the boondocks on the really sucky assignments getting a little lax. Rebel agents or sympathizers working in the food industry might give them extra portions to fatten them up and slow them down. 😉
In the real world, maybe there were more skinny guys working as extras in the U.K. back in the 70’s?
