Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread — Page 118

I’d have been very surprised if they included any of the scenes from the earlier cut of the film. That usually doesn’t happen.

Really tired of retailer-specific content.

Minor nitpick that I have: I hate when they put quotes from reviews on the front of the cover. Put all that on the back, but I saw the movie, I know it was “Triumphant!” and those who don’t agree or haven’t seen it aren’t going to be convinced by the one word being slapped on the front of the cover.

Other than that, the cover is fine.

EDIT: The more I look at it, the less fine it is.

I’m disappointed in the bonus features lacking deleted scenes and commentary. However, interesting thing I noticed: the Best Buy exclusive includes a 3D disc, meaning that the double dip won’t even have New 3D release going for it like TFA had, and it’ll just be new bonus features (unless they make a new Rogue One SE or something).

And always with incredibly ugly box art too.

Yup.

And they tell me they don’t have any openings for a graphic designer. PAH!

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Me too, but in fairness this choice is easy because Target is the only one with the exclusive content, and their box art is the best anyway.

Don’t know why they couldn’t have just used the poster.

Guess I’ll wait for the double dip.

Bingo.

Red lasers on TIE Fighters?

They spared no expense on QC. At least give us the IMAX artwork.

Nope, Frink. Although actually there’s no technical difference, so…never mind!

Really? The only one that’s any good is the standard one. Similar to poster anyway. Disappointingly they scrubbed fader’s shadow from it for some reason. He’s on the DVD though.

Not a fan of the shop job on either, though the DVD is much worse. Target is at least simple (with the interesting swappable gimmick too).

According to this, there’s a much better slipcover with the awesome IMAX poster in the UK.

So glad that my local multi-library system is used far less thanks to streaming and digital versions. They had like over 40 copies of the TFA Blu-ray within the first two weeks of the home video release. And with only like 120 holds total at the time, no problem. And now I always see a copy on the shelf.

Hence why I still haven’t bought TFA.

I’ll have no problem doing the same with Rogue One.

That behind-the-scenes list is pathetic. They are so lazy with these releases compared to back in the day.

The prequels had wonderful bonus features on the DVD’s…and they don’t deserve those as much.

It’s the same poster used to promote the Chinese (?) cinema release for back in early January - albeit with a different Jyn Erso head - and they still haven’t fixed the TIE’s firing red lasers…

I feel like the severe lack of extras is because they will release a “deluxe” version of it probably around November, just before the holiday season kicks off, with more content and an E.VIII preview. It’s all about the long game when it comes to franchises with large fandoms. Please the general audience with a normal release, and then keep the fanboys coming back for more. After all, it is Di$ney we’re talking about here. Personally I’m gonna try and hold off until they announce a juicier release.

I’m thinking I might wait and see if there’s a collectors’ edition this fall like we got with TFA. They waited for then to release the 3d BD of TFA; with the 3D going out form the onset, maybe we’ll get a UHD collectors’ box in October.

Wow, that one truly is awful. Bodhi is floating, Jyn’s legs just look wrong, Chirrut looks to big, K2 isn’t casting a shadow.
