Personally, I’m a fan of the milk drinking scene - for me it’s part of Luke demonstrating the Force (the nature of it; in the cycle of life and nurture - along with the fishing)

I agree with this, which I why I didn’t want to cut the whole scene. Luke’s milking the alien for me is enough to suggest his connection with nature and the force. The shot of Luke actually drinking it with the scornful look on his face (as if he was deliberately trying making Rey uncomfortable) felt a little too strong to me. Rey was already uncomfortable, so, for me, the purpose of the scene is already achieved without having Luke rub it in her face.

I took Luke’s scowl itself ss a ‘much to learn you have’ / ‘unlearn what you have learned’ type message - the realisation that he is now giving those lessons to someone young, naive yet willing… as once Yoda gave him - though you’re right, it is quite a strong look from him to that already uncomfortable Rey.

A difficult choice to decide / cut - though you’ve given yourself some quality possibilities…

^ You were missed by a fair few of us a while back mate - I’d say you’re a popular member around here, and people are glad you’re back posting.

Though like it was at the beginning of this site starting up 15+ years ago - all are welcome; it’s one of the most endearing qualities about this unique place 😃

Some will leave, some will come back, and everyone needs a break now and then - yet we’re still here strutting our stuff. I never thought we’d get over the likes of HotRod, Rikter, Bossk, ricarleite, sean wookie, JediSage, Nanner Split, motti_soL, Darth Chaltab, Gaffer Tape, and Shim et al not posting as much - yet in time we did… and then again… and then again…

Can only echo ChainsawAsh - both seamless and well done. Personally, I’m a fan of the milk drinking scene - for me it’s part of Luke demonstrating the Force (the nature of it; in the cycle of life and nurture - along with the fishing) to a somewhat uncomfortable Rey. Though this is your Edit mate - go with what you feel is right for what you’re striving towards with it.

Looking forward to seeing the finished Edit 😃

Bread and butter pudding 😃

25g Stork spread
400ml Just Milk
200ml double cream (I just add more milk - no cream)
Zest of 1 orange
1 vanilla pod, scraped or 1 tsp Nielsen-Massey vanilla extract
50g Billington’s Golden Caster sugar (or plain sugar works nearly as well)
3 large eggs
3 egg yolks
300g day-old brioche loaf, cut into 1.5cm thick slices
125g fine cut marmalade
100g raisins

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/gas mark 3. Generously grease the base and sides of a 2.6 litre rectangular Pyrex dish with the Stork and set aside. Combine the milk, cream, orange zest and vanilla pod and seeds in a saucepan and bring to simmering point.
  2. Meanwhile whisk the sugar, eggs and egg yolks in a large Pyrex bowl. Pour the hot milk mixture over the eggs and sugar and whisk to combine. Discard the vanilla pod.
  3. Mix the marmalade with 2 tbsp of hot water to loosen, then spread over the slices of brioche. Arrange the brioche slices in overlapping layers in the bottom of the dish, sprinkling raisins between the layers.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the top and leave to soak for 15-20 minutes. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Leave to stand for 10 minutes before serving.

‘Doctor Who to skip Christmas Day for first time in 13 years’…

The festive edition of Doctor Who will be shown on New Year’s Day on BBC One instead of Christmas Day for the first time since the drama’s return in 2005.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-46210019

Not really a fan of this change. From what I’ve read, this is the kind of situation where, once the give up that time slot, they’re possibly never going to be able to get it back. And, when this rumor was going around a few weeks ago,
the reason stated was that Chibnall thought all of the Christmas plot ideas were tapped out. Which is… strange. It doesn’t need to be about Christmas to be broadcast on that day. And several of them have only had a passing reference to the holiday.

This would also explain, perhaps, why Chibnall initially refused to take over for the last Christmas special. Moffat stuck around to produce yet an extra Christmas special, specifically to make sure Doctor Who kept that time slot. Oh well, thanks anyway?

Possibly so mate - though I would say the BBC struggles to fill it’s schedules for either day with new quality content these days, so there may be a chance of it going back to Christmas Day, if the will was there from the show-runners?

It’ll be interesting to see the viewing figures and attitudes for what they do for next year…

With the day off, I had some fun taking apart the Starkiller Infiltration and putting it back together (somewhat).

I intentionally didn’t spend a great deal of time finessing the scenes or transitions, so it’s a very rough idea. Kylo begins the interrogation the same place as in the Theatrical, but it then transitions to Hux and the Starkiller charging, then the Resistance briefing, and then finally back to the interrogation to imply that it has been going on for quite a while (it definitely needs an establishing shot though). I would like to have some indication in this scene that implies that Rey’s connection to Han is what defeats Kylo, which is what Snoke picks up on later.

Really liked your reworking of the interrogation scenes - you can really feel the ebb and flow of information, Rey’s resistance and then her own probing of Kylo when he more forcefully tries to exert the info he wants. Nice execution in amongst the Falcon’s approach, and Han & Co entering the base.

You’re doing great - loving the explanations and reasoning as to your changes in your videos (both informative and helpful to anyone out there thinking about undertaking their own project too).

Nicely done, and also with the changes to the order at the end.

I think it’s more of a new ‘this machine kills Breen fascists’ experimental type phaser - with smooth free jazz accompaniment for closing scenes after the villain has been defeated each week… 😃

Am looking forward to the new season of The Orville in a couple of weeks - should be intriguing to see how it approaches that awkward 2nd album season.
