So you’re saying there’s a chance?
So you’re saying there’s a chance?
This show is so good, you should all drop everything you are doing and watch it now.
drop out of college,
quit your job,
break up with your SO,
abandon ship,#SaveTheExpanse
well, maybe don’t do any of those things. but this is good sci-fi.
Quoted for truth (and because I missed it before somehow).
Mission accomplished
^ Well done, Amazon - be great to see The Expanse being continued 😃

YESSSS!!! Best news I’ve heard all day! 😄

TL;DR expect it in 2019
Hahaha love SyFy plugging the show they cancelled on their own blog! This is already more pre-season advertising/hype than they ever did when it was still their show, too.

It would be confusing if Syfy started making sense, so it makes sense that they are confusing.

And the Siffy Paradox was christened.
Who else is excited for season 5?!
I really love this series.
The first three episodes of season 5 will drop on December 16, then the rest will release weekly after that.
I’ll pick this up just as The Mandalorian season 2 ends.
Book 5 was incredible. I’m so excited to see it unfold on screen.
Season five starts next month and it’s already renewed for a final sixth season. I usually preface my opinions with “favorite” instead of “best” but I’m going to come out and say The Expanse is objectively one of the best sci-fi series of all time. Complex characters, compelling plots, gorgeous cinematography, and arguably the most scientifically accurate.
The first half of the first season can be a little hard to follow for some, but it picks up after that and really takes off. There are just so many factions and different motivations throughout the series. I pick up something new every time I rewatch it. I highly recommend.
Super bummed that we won’t get the final 3 books on screen, but (from what I hear, I’m not that far in the books yet) the sixth book serves as a conclusion before a large time skip and a very different final trilogy, so maybe it’s for the best. And maybe this means a few years down the line, if there’s demand for it, they’ll get the cast back to do the last 3 books in some form.
So, based on everything I’ve read so far, The Expanse is hard science fiction with a strong emphasis on being as scientifically plausible as possible, with a few artistic liberties.
The authors of the books would push back on the “hard science fiction” label, but overall yeah, that’s largely accurate.
Sounds like the best possible sci-fi to me.
After pausing on the fence for a few years, I finally decided to watch the next trilogy.
Meaning, I began watching S04.
You guys who have read the books: Will the series conclude with S06?
This season is the best so far, especially Marco Inaros. He’s killing it.
Ha ha. I just scrolled upward and noticed the OT “reader” of the book series has been banned. Hopefully, a temp ban, though I don’t wander the forum much.
Wikipedia indicates “The Expanse” consists of eight novels (with a final ninth planned), as well as novellas and short stories. I have no intention of reading any of those.

So what I am wondering - if there is another reader of the series - will S06 offer closure somewhat as did S03?

I’ve just started reading the series, but it’s my understanding after the sixth book there is a time jump of about 30 years, so the sixth is a good place for the series to stop. I’ll know more for sure myself when I get that far.
Thank you. I hate investing time on a never-ending soap opera.
What I appreciate about “The Expanse” is the sheer amount of narrative track that keeps getting laid down.
That, and the episodes move. None of the minute, incremental advances found in padded series.
Season finale tonight!
Plodding along, I plan to view S04E07 tonight.
I had forgotten about it, but the proto-molecule is being mentioned again.
Every time that term is mentioned, I wish the writers had concocted another name.
One: I think of “protomatter” from the Trek universe.
Two: More than that, I recall the not dissimilar “protoculture”.
More a distraction really, causing me to wonder where Rick Hunter is.

I just finished S04 and was underwhelmed. For those who have viewed S05, is it markedly better?
Also, has S06 been confirmed? I know a big reason why the second trilogy was picked up was because Jeff (Amazon) Bezos was such a fan.
With him stepping down in the third quarter this year, I wondered how the new bosses regarded the series.
