Legendary Comic Don Rickles Dies at 90
“First feel fear, then get angry. Then go with your life into the fight.” - Bill Mollison
RIP Don Rickles. He was part of the golden age of comedy!
I have to pay my respects to Don Rickles, he was a massive influence on me.
R.I.P. Mr. Rickles 😦

Genuinely curious, how so?
I don’t know much about him other than he’s the insult comic hockey puck guy.
Wasn’t he Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story movies?
Where were you in '77?
Indeed.
Oh yeah, forgot about that.
Is it too soon to start roastin’?
I’ll be on standby pending mod clearance.
He often appeared on Carson. Which lead to a great bit of improv where Johnny returned from a break, (gone are the days when late night hosts had other people fill in) to find an item on his desk had been broken by Rickles the night before. He walked across the hall, (with bulky 70’s tv cameras trying keep up) to where Rickles was taping a sitcom, and confronted him about it. https://youtu.be/Mj2S2n64DeQ
I think only Carson could get away with such a stunt.

I’ll allow a separate Don Rickles celebrity roast memorial thread. The kids might not get the concept though. 😉

Bless you Don Rickles, thank you for all the laughs and all the roasting, you will be sorely missed.
Going to be a tall order recasting the part for Toy Story 4, unless he already recorded something for it.

RIP Don Rickles - was also Crapgame in Kelly’s Heroes.

Didn’t they write out Jim Varney’s character from the franchise rather than recast?
IIRC, they got a new voice actor.
Where were you in '77?
Yep.
