I wish that they wouldn’t advertise it as “Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” unless it actually is. This should be promoted as “The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones”.

I acquired the Japanese laserdisc boxset. Is there still a need for capturing these episodes?

I would hope there is. From the various pieces that have been posted above, the French version has pretty clear picture. The Japanese LD has burned in subtitles, but good picture and sound. They key part that needs restoration is the old Indy segments. That any any changes made to the body of the episodes.

I am a fan, but I have not watched it because they cut out old Indy - one of the things I enjoyed. The way I would go about this is to get the French and Japanese versions to color match and use the French version to restore what is covered by the burned in Japanese subtitles. But someone with access to both of those would have to let us know if that would work. I just found out season 1 was done and probably will check it out to see the quality.

Yes please post them to archive dot org and someone will eventually get around to doing what the guy said below you

I wish someone with the laserdisc would capture the making of. We would have it in the best quality even if there are Japanese subs. The tv recording i have only seen clips of is awful.

The restored fan edit versions that are on YouTube can also be found here 🤠https://archive.org/details/Young_Indy_Restored

Agree, would be good to have other versions, Japanese laserdiscs or UK VHS (particularly the BBC airings with or without pre and post material) 😀

What is probably the best way to watch the entire series, and why? I want to watch it all for the first time, and I can’t seem to decide for myself. Should some of them be “Chronicles” and others “Adventures”? Do any of the intro, connection, and ending scenes added to “Adventures” really matter?

Does anyone have the original version from the episodes “Austria, March 1917” and “Paris, October 1916” with original English audio?

Can you capture this and post it somewhere? I guess it’s gonna help me find the 2 episodes that I need. Thank you very much!

Is the French version dubbed? (are there other language dubs?) Maybe it could be used to make an alternate audio where the characters speaking French actually do (or German, Spanish, Russian, etc )

I thought it was a bold move for the pilot episode to include so much Spanish, but that concept was soon abandoned so everyone speaks English in stilted accents.

Ive seen about half this show from the old Indy reconstructions now, which seems like a better way to watch it. I suppose putting them in chronological order could also be an option. The bookends tend to be terribly silly but charming and add necessary context. The edits frequently have repeated or anachronistic credits. A couple episodes had some audio sync issues and one even had an illegible pop up flashing during the last minute or so. Otherwise pretty cool it’s all complete.
