Check this special set out

The image is from a ebay auction, and apparently nothing extra comes with this set, so why the big box?

is this going to be for sale?
or is it just a fan made box?

I got money that says this is the exterior packaging that wholesale clubs like Sams Club and CostCo will be using on the set. They always have external "long boxes" much like the old days of CDs on most of their DVDs. Granted their box sets usually come in molded plastic bubble boxes, I wouldn't put it past them to do something "special" like this for Star Wars. Looks just like their MO.

I was going to say the same thing.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

i actually like that little box you get it in...
sorta justifies paying the price for such a thing...

Funny thing is that you will likely save $5-10 buying it at Sam's over what the regular price will be elsewhere. However, they still don't usually top the first-week sale prices at stores. I have found Nip/Tuck season 1 at Sam's Club for US$36 and everywhere else it's US$45. I'm sure the initial sale price was below the $36, but I missed the sale. No, I haven't bought it yet, but I know where to go if I want it.

DanB - just found out that if you order online you only get the normal silver boxset. Only going to the store itself will get you the black boxset - which may prove a little difficult/expensive unless you've managed to find somewhere in Oz that does 'em too...

Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster!

I pre-ordered my MVC copy yesterday instore, with a view of getting one of those boxes. Now, I haven't had a look at the box itself yet, because the instore price is £32.99! I don't see how that box can be 'free' with instore pre-orders, when the boxset is £26.99 (+ £1 P&P) if you order through their website!

The sales assistant made a big deal out of the box, saying it would be £10 if you bought it seperately but you got it free when you pre-ordered.

Now I'm a packaging-ho like the next man, but that's a lot of money for a box.

Jeff
