Frightening. I am a parent, yet all I could hear was Andrew Dice Clay when that post was last entered.

Anyway, ROTJ is done. I could tweak this thing to death, but I'm letting better editors do that with the OT. I've merely created an alternate SE that we hopefully can live with. I'm trying to figure the best way to get the final result out there. It's been offered as a torrent on that site we all frequent. I don't have a DL burner (yet) so my distribution is limited on the DL version (which, to me, is the preferred version to have).

Rik should be getting a copy in the next few days. Hopefully he'll have some ideas on distribution.

ANH is at a standstill right now. Combustion's demo watermarks all output with a big Red X (as seen in my earlier screencaps. I can't afford to buy the program to correct this handful of shots, as I really don't intend to take things further than that. i.e. I'm not planning to become a video editor anytime soon, so the cost becomes hard to justify. Solutions to this dilemma should be taken to PM.

In the interest of my initial purpose in this thread, I hope to make downloads available of the changed portions so others can follow the roadmap to implementing these changes as well. It may inspire others to create other corrections that can be implemented with the right toolset.

If that's the case, then why not use the 5.1 AC-3 from the SE LD's?

Apparently, the SE LDs have a 5.1 surround track created from the 4-channel PCM tracks (kinda like my version). The DVD's have a true, remastered 5.1 soundtrack. At least , that's what I've been led to believe.

1st - I shall pay forward and torrent it!

2nd - You may have created MY Definitive Special Editions!!!! (Just like MagnoliaFan created MY Definitive Prequels - man, I love you guys!!)

This is a REALLY cool edit my friend - I scanned the disc to look over what you've done and it's awesome from what I've seen - NOW please bear in mind that I have NEVER seen the Special Editions of Empire or Jedi.. honestly, maybe a few scenes here and there but never from start to end nor have I seen the 2004 versions so I may not be the best judge of what you cut and edited

- ANYWAY, I will be firing up the projector and screening this "edit" the proper way this weekend with my brother and a few friends (I might make it a BBQ )

NOW to the juicy bits......

I will be posting this as a torrent within the next 72 hours (There are few torrents I wanna get too ) and I wanna see if I can bang out a cover for this THAT and Digi could you send me WHATEVER information you want me to include in the NFO? - AND for those of you who do not have Broadband I will now also offer this version in my collection on Single Layer for now and on Dual Layer discs once this "HOLY" Trilogy is done.

^ I MUST start paying more attention to what is going on around here

ADM has done a ROTJ Edit? Sounds most intriguing.

Here's to hoping I don't get fried to a crisp. I hope to be clear that this is a special edition re-edit. Not the O-OT. Maybe we need to create a new thread under the SE vs OT section. My intent with this thread has strayed somewhat, but my original intent is still there: To encourage the posting of completed clips that can be re-inserted into the official DVD. Technically, I've only done one of those which is on this disc. I suppose if the entire torrent were downloaded, demuxed, and the relevant video segment of Shaw-as-Anakin's-Ghost reinserted, then we're back on topic. But dagnabbit, I've had fun with this project whatever the case. I hope you all love Lapti Nek, which is almost as far from OT preservation as Jedi Rocks itself.

Not at all. The readership in here is 99 and 44/100 in favor of your work. (10 points to whoever gets the reference. )

MBJ's going to take my geek card again but, what reference are you refering too...

ADM, I COMPLETELY approve of your ideas for ROTJ, it maintains the DVD quality of the movie AND it takes out the horrible SE song, you put back the Shaw image. My Gosh, if this disk is as good as it sounds and your ANH turns out just as well, I may never have to start my own personal project.

ADM, (comment #2)

For ANH and "Han shooting first". Here's only a minor minor suggestion which could easily be ignored and tossed out - NO DanielB demanding here.

- If you take the last frame of Han's speech, "I bet you have", just before you see Greedo and Han sitting at the table.
- Copy it
- Insert it back.
- Copy the blaster flash from ANY available OT LD back up.
- Insert that
- Then compress the audio like you said you have already done.

You will have 99.9% of the Original sequence.

ADigitalMan, I know you restored the ghost scene with Shaw.
But did you also restore the unmasking scene with Shaw as well?

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Nah. Believe it or not, the eyebrows always crawled up my last nerve. I sat there and thought to myself every time "Wouldn't a man who had all the hair burned off his body have no eyebrows too?" I actually liked this change. But, the cool thing is, anybody can take the edit I've done and build on it, making it their own. The restoration of that bit will probably be a little harder, as there will need to be more color matching in the scene. But if you replace the entire scene en toto with something that's been matched closely, it will likely be unnoticable to the rank amateur (like me).

I always thought Anakin looked like the Tin man in the unmasking scene.

(Imagine the tin man all watery-eyed while Dorothy and the scarecrow are "oiling" him)

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
