The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released) — Page 531

I looked through the Battlefront lines and nothing useful for this specific moment stuck out at me. A second set of ears on it wouldn’t hurt in case I missed something, though.

So I’d like to know what lines everybody has for me to send to Speaking of AI for the Ben Solo lines. Also, I heard RogueLeader has some ideas for the Rey Nobody version.

I looked at the Ben death scene and unfortunately there is no shot of Rey right after he vanished completely, only while he’s lying there. I guess they could be rearranged, but otherwise a new line wouldn’t be able to fit there sadly.

EDIT: There IS a smiling reaction of Maz after him and Leia vanish, and she is Force-sensitive enough to hear those voices, but it would create the impression that Ben is talking to Maz which is weird since they have no previous connection.

I remembered Hal had some suggestions:

I don’t really feel the need to add anything to the scene, but it’d be good to get some quotes of “Rey,” “no,” and things like that to play with.

I’d be most interested in the dyad line. Maybe request the complete sentence as well as various pieces of it.
“What Palpatine doesn’t know if we’ve become a dyad in the Force. Two that are one.”

“We’ve become a dyad in the Force.”

“We’ve become a dyad.”

“We’ve become…”

“Become a dyad…”

Etc. Just to have slight variation of the AI delivery.

I would try those ideas which then someone can use whatever filter or whatnot to mimic Kylo’s mask sound. There could be some syllables, words, etc. that after some adjustments may help that area in the hanger.

“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”

Okay. How about I also send him a video that contains the scenes for where the lines belong. It may be a good reference for the tone and emotion in his voice, if the AI works out that way.

That’s a good idea, it may help to have the surrounding dialogue and the scene itself to try and “match” the tone and and all.

“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”

Maybe “I’m sorry!” as well as the "Rey"s and "No"s.

And I doubt the AI could deliver it properly but a muttering of “Finish what he started” or some variation of that would be neat.

It’s getting a bit late on my end, but I’ll send the lines and video to Speaking of AI tomorrow. If anyone has anymore lines they’d like to submit, let me know.

Thanks for doing that!

No problem! Also, do you think you can update my name in the Special Thanks list here from nl0428 to Master Lawdog, Hal? I think it says that in the list of names who provided voice work for the fleet as well.

I’ve “re-written” the first scene with Kylo and Palps. Some of the new dialogue could be accomplished with AI.

(Yes, this also requires changing any mentions of the Final Order into the Sith Eternal.)

How exactly can this be accomplished? Both with Palpatine’s voice and having new dialogue for Kylo Ren where you see him speak the lines.

Isn’t deepfaking the mouth possible, to match with the mouth movements for my proposed lines?

It is possible, for sure. I just don’t know if anyone here can do it.

Also, I’ll get him to do some lines for some scenes that people have tested out in the Rey Nobody thread. Also, an idea came up for me. How would you all feel if he calls out Rey’s name at the end when she looks off into the horizon to see him, Luke and Leia?

Rey sensing Luke, Ben and Leia is enough to get her attention, when she is hesitating to adopt the Skywalker name.

Ooh I like this.

If it were up to me, I’d probably remove all dialogue from the epilogue - just let the music and visuals carry it; although, in a similar vein to your idea, I suggested at one point that Ben could call out to her right before she “strikes [Palpatine] down,” and it’s his voice that brings her back from the brink.

So, I guess it would be the same “Rey…” line, just in a different spot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Working on the video to send to him right now. I also liked the mockup that JXEditor did by having him say to Palpatine, “You’re just a clone. What could you give me?”

There’s those Tarkin and Leia deepfakes for Rogue One.

@TestingOutMyPatience, these were included in Hal’s edit of Rogue One as someone did them on YouTube and was nice enough to share their work. I’m sure if you made something passable that looked like it could be in the original film, it would probably be considered for this edit. Some of these suggestions would be better received in this thread.

Those are deepfakes that use A.I. to alter the face while following the original motion, changing the mouth movements to match new lines would be a totally different thing. And the Tarkin & Leia deepfakes are not seamless, they’re just a marked improvement over the dated CGI used originally, deepfaking Adam Driver would immediatly stand out as phony compared to the original footage.

I’m also weary of overusing the A.I. voice since it can’t 100% match Adam’s natural performance, though I guess it’s better to get as many samples as we can even if only a small fraction is actually used.

Also this. Please have this produced. Especially since Kylo’s mouth is blocked by his lightsaber during this shot.

Regarding the clone line, I don’t think it’s necessary. “What could you give me?” already has a lot of meanings; it conveys Kylo’s grudge against Palps for being a threat to his power, and him being nothing but a decaying, rotting clone husk of himself.
