The Annie Angst Thread

Author
Time
This is the thread to discuss Anakin's unfair existance as a teenager, inspired by Shimraa.

To start off, let me post this delicious quote from AOTC:

"I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM."

I bet GL was shaking in his boots after writing those lines! He must have been thinking to himself, "Damn, that's evil! I'm gooood!"

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

It just came to me where Anakin got his black robes!

Hot Topic of course! Geesh! It all makes sense now!

HahAHHhahahHHAha.
I killed them. Dead. Not just injured or begging for mercy, but dead, the whole hog, no turning back dead. Cos I'm bad, see? I kill people. And that's bad, killing, making people dead, taking their lives.

War does not make one great.

I tihnk it's more the delivery of the line (and whole lot more - not just by Hayden) that makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

Unfortunately it SEEMS that none of the actors stood up to Lucas or suggested other better lines of dialogue, ala Ford and others in the OT - or had the ability to deliver lines in the way Guiness, Cushing, Earl Jones and others did...

Hayden may look a little mean and angst ridden - though his acting/delivery/ability left a lot to be desired - something which was a key factor in the Prequel Trilogy...

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

my conjecture based on what i've read is that hayden may have had a good performance in him, but that lucas specifically instructed him to dial back the anger and become more the petulant teenager.

haven't they both said stuff to the effect of hayden wanting to be angry bad ass vader in AOTC, but Lucas making him wait until ROTS?

So why didn't he do it in ROTS then?

Does anyone else but me *cringe* every time Hayden pronounces the word 'master' in the PT? <<shudder>>

"So why didn't he do it in ROTS then?" Hehe, I knew you were going to ask that question.

"Does anyone else but me *cringe* every time Hayden pronounces the word 'master' in the PT?" I wouldn't say cringe, but it does always sound kinda weird for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe it's because he always sounds like he's about to cry when he says that word.

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

i personally cannot fault the acting in ROTS; i know many do. for the first time, i think the actors embrace their often heavy-handed dialogue with the same gusto as mark hamill, harrison ford, and the rest in the OT.

Anchorhead - Tis a good job Hayden didn't get a job opposite William Shatner on Trek - imagine the... long pauses... between... the... words... - for dramatic effect...

(though have to say I imagine GL is as to blame as the actors for poor delivery)
