In Photoshop use the Colour Balance sliders to get whatever colour you like. It might also help first if you convert the image to just black and white and then modify the Colour Balance.

Exactly. Open the image and go to Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate (or press CTRL+SHIFT+U). Then go to Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation and turn on the "colorize" checkmark and adjust the hue/saturation/lightness of the image.

Neat-o.
I'm only gonna tamper with the poster art for the prequel DVDs, since the spines and backs are actually pretty good as is.

And I wan't the PT and OT DVDs to be *somewhat* different. But the Criterion poster art is just such a good idea.

What colors would everyone suggest for each prequel cover? Lol, I can't pick!

My stance on revising fan edits.

ANH - blue for Obi's saber color
ESB - red for Vader's saber and since the Empire is triumphant in the end
ROTJ - green for Luke's saber and all the action on Endor

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

I meant for the prequel covers, but those are good reasons.

Maybe a richer green than is already for ANH for TPM, since Qui-Gon has green.
Then a different shade of blue thatn is already for ESB since it's both major saber colors in AOTC.
Then red for ROTS, even though it's already for ROTJ.

So basically the same as for the OT, for different reasons.

I'd go with

TPM - Orange for the Old Republic Insignia color
AOTC - Purple for Mace and Jango
ROTS - Red for the evil Sith

ANH - Yellowish Orange for Tatooine
ESB - Blue for the Imperial Insignia color
ROTJ - Green for Endor

I'm not going to mess with the spines and backs of the prequel covers for two reasons.
1) I can't. I wouldn't know where to start.
2) I only want them to *kinda* blend into the OT DVD covers.

So I altered the front of TPM cover to be yello, and AOTC to be gold-orange.
I'll probably make ROTS a red color with a hint of purple for a maroon-ish color. Depends on what the poster art looks like.

TPM - Yello
AOTC - Orange
ROTS - Maroon
ANH - Green
ESB - Blue
ROTJ - Red

I'm such a perfectionist on things that ultimatley don't matter much. lol

I have both your disc, and have d/l'd the covers torrent you have provided, and was wondering if the the preview covers that Cerebro had posted on page two of this thread (June 20th, 2004, using the SE art) was included. I like them a lot. I've looked, but I can't find them.

HERE are some covers that I did. I didn't do much but take other people work and change it around a little. Sorry it's a tripod sight too.

Those are nice, real nice. Btw, where can a find high resolution files of those "faces" covers that you used? Gotta have those on my TR47 set.

Mackey256 I love you covers, where can I get the hires ones. I love the scans of the Faces VHS set to, I would like to get hold of thoose scans! So I can do a nice cover set for my "in a near future" VHS->DVD conversion of the 1995 OT VHS!

I'm sorry the originals don't exist any more to me. You'll have to wait for a few years for my special editions to come out.
