i thought it was filmed in imax but they dropped the scenes
I saw it in Imax Laser at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. I don’t know if it actually screened in 70mm imax (I assume it did though) but it definitely screened in Imax Laser on some impressively large screens. However, it did NOT have a shifting aspect ratio like TFA did.
Boston didn’t get it that is for sure, the only place that could have played it the Omnimax at the Museum of Science had gotten rid of its 70mm projection system in favor of digital. Closest place to me Connecticut i didn’t get to see it.
I saw it at the IMAX dome in San Jose before it went digital. The real question is, were there any IMAX prints made for TROS?
Where were you in '77?
I think ROS was Imax digital and 3D. And no 70mm film prints. So it was only in liemax.
There’s no expanded aspect ratio scenes.
