Right. I’m not an expert, but sociopathy has never struck me as a mental illness. In plain English, I don’t think that Trump is mentally ill. I just think he is an extremely self-absorbed bad person, with unfortunately some charisma.

Apparently the DSM-5, the book on mental disorders, classifies personality disorders, like sociopathy, as mental illnesses. So if you were to take a very simplistic view of things based on public behavior, you could make the argument that Trump is mentally ill.

I’m perfectly fine taking the simplistic view on him. Maybe he’s clinically ill, maybe he’s just a fucking terrible person, maybe he’s both, who cares? He’s awful through-and-through and the reasons don’t matter.

I’m not too sure based on his words and actions so far… that he gives a lot of thought on what is actually happening in Puerto Rico - and his tweets were likely made in between concentrating on holes on the golf course (again).
