Weird press skq3w:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/movies/bal-to.starwars05may05,0,6751722.story?coll=bal-artslife-movies

<div class=“PostQuote”>The move is a direct response to popular demand, according to Lucasfilm spokesman John Singh. “The biggest question we’ve ever gotten from Star Wars fans is, ‘When are you going to release the originals?’ A Web site called originaltrilogy.com, in the last year alone, gathered 72,000 signatures asking for their release. We love that passion.”</div>

Somethings odd with the wording/paraphrasing but if John Singh is saying incorrect things about OT.com, they’re either using this as a marketing ploy (which they figure no one will check to see if the facts are correct), or they just don’t care or they are watching and we’ll have to wait to see how their lackies respond.

Apologies for the 13 year bump (a little nostalgia and also for posterity)

A screenshot image of the above article from the 5th May 2006 - featuring quotes from Lucasfilm spokesman John Singh about the OriginalTrilogy•com - as well as acknowledging that the theatrical versions of the Original Trilogy films are “…the movies that some fans have always wanted own, because they’re the ones they first saw in theaters.”

I find that answer vague and unconvincing. Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? And say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

We were so hopeful back then. It looked like all our years of petitioning and keeping a spotlight on the suppression by Lucas was finally about to pay off. Then, the Humdinger Glitch. Here we still are, over a decade later.

"Why are you here, Rey from nowhere?”

We’re like the Essenes, recluses living in the desert communes apart from the rest of our religious kin, keeping pure and doing our part to hasten the eschaton. The fan restorations are our Dead Sea Scrolls.

PM me for links to my edits; apparently, some feel shy about this.

I’m probably closer to Marcion of Sinope.

Eat the multi-billion dollar corporate slop and pretend it’s social justice, you weirdos.

Sounds about right; there’s a lot of SW-Marcionites here for sure.
