I thought the same thing about the grammar and spelling, which is why alluded to Jimbo's lack of either in my original post, but that post by "Joe_H" has a number of quotes from even 2-3 week old posts. Saving up posts, thinking them over, proofreading, spell checking it is possible. Most everything he quoted was not from the past couple of days actually.

Luke, I have read 100s of your posts I have never seen you antagonizing Jimbo, until he starts saying rediculous things that are inflammatory to the board and we all get angry. I believe in respecting other's views, but when those views violate 1. The notion/subject of the board and the reason the people come here 2. The respect of the board members with hateful and critical comments 3. Things that are said purely to press buttons with all of us... it's just not cool. Really. I can deal with someone correcting me on technical points (rikter, Hal, Klingon, etc. have done this and that's fine - I can be wrong). I can deal with differing viewpoints (many members debate here). But there is a line and Jimbo/Joe_H has crossed way over it.

Further there is some likemindedness in thought here about loving the OT and wanting it preserved. This likemindedness is the very root of our respect, almost all of us are here for the same reason. That is at the core of our posts, even if some views differ. Jimbo does not share these views TPM is the greatest movie of all time next to ATOC (perfectly titled as well). Why not post on sites that agree with this and are driven around the PT with people that saw the OT SE versions on VHS a couple years back once. This is not that site.

I am sure we'll get a post back from "Joe_H" in several days...give him time to prepare.

In the meantime...run the IP please.

Once the '2oo4 editions' are out on DVD I will use all my available resources to recut the films to my liking, undoing all the changes I did not like (hopefully I'll have a dual layer burner by then, so I can put both german and english audio tracks on there). -- May the force be with us


Id like to do the same thing really. I would have to do very little editing since I oviously love the vast majority of the changes. My edit would be the 2004 edition except

Han shoots first (I know Joe_H that is looks alot better then 1997 but I still liked it better in its original form)
Jabba scene would still be there except the camera pulls away when Han steps on Jabbas tail
Bobas has his old voice
Shaw would play Anakins ghost

I wasn't refering to the Jimbo-Luke quarrel I was refering to the little joke that bad_Karma24 made. And it was funny. And it was also true.

It's amazing the utter lack of wisdom found in many of the posters and the posts on this board.

Luke, Jimbo's opinions are his own, be they right or wrong. While you might disagree or agree with what he says, you personally know what YOU believe and think. There is no reason to bash him for his views, despite how contradictory they might be to yours.

Jimbo, this is not the proper time or place to "gay bash" or anything. Until you can form decent arguments and present your viewpoints validly, you have no reason to just start spewing. You may have valid arguments and opinions...but please, use discretion and tact when it comes to sharing them.

This "feud" probably won't end anytime soon. But please, both of you, for the sake of everyone else on the board, even such newbies as me and Joe_H, try to keep it to a dull roar...or better yet, email each other seperately.

How is that trolling? A post was made suggesting that Joe_H and Jimbo are one and the same. I said no and gave evidence to back it up. No need for a long drawn out discussion, because frankly, I don't care for these arguments either and have thus far resisted ot get into this due to it's idoicy.

plus i hate seeing new people come on for one or two posts and then leave...

I imagine some people would have seen his 'gay hate' thread and thought that his views may be the norm on here.

Have no idea why he kept on banging on about it in the Mark Hamill in Ireland thread - surtely he could've posted in a new thread in the Off Topic' bit... and not given a larger platform in the THeatrical vs Special Ed forum...

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Joe_H and jimbo have different IP addresses. Unless jimbo earned an English degree overnight, I seriously doubt they're the same person.

I think jimbo adds something this forum desperately needs: a strong pro-SE sentiment. It helps maintain a certain balance.

I obviously don't have the time to watch every thread unfold. I certainly didn't expect gay bashing to occur in a thread about a Mark Hamill interview.

Such behavior will not be tolerated here.

jimbo, your contributions regarding Star Wars are welcome. Your bigotry is not.

Yeah, I didn't really think they were the same person (though it was an interesting possibility), I was really just joking around (hence the smiley). But nevertheless, it's nice to have confirmation anyway.

Sorry that is what I believe. It did all start with Hotrod and Luke making sick comments that I found offensive. I only tryed to explain why I found them offensive. Which lead to a chain of reaction with negative consequences.

Hell, I've been here since May and have posted about 350 posts, and he's been scaring me away as of late. That's why my posting has slowed down. I just can't Jimbo's rudeness and his posting habits in general. It's the rest of you that keep me coming.

Agreed. I think everyone saw it for what it was except Jimbo. He is perhaps the most homophobic person I've come across, and the sad part is that he seems to be proud of how far his fear goes.
