I've recently become a huge fan of Ocean Colour Scene. I've recently acquired all of their albums, and I've listened to them all multiple times. Probably one of the most underrated bands of the last decade.

they are great - with the crappy weather here in the UK you always know when it's summer as everyone I know puts on Ocean Colour Scene, sits back with a beer and relaxes in the hot sun. Happy Days :)

You know, I've noticed that if you look back - only within the last year or so (at least to an outsider) does Rob seem to have been a gay troll. Although, now is not the time to attack him; now is the time to post what music I am listening to.

So, I bought Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys; I can see how this amazing album inspired The Beatles to do Sgt. Peppers. This version came with both stereo and mono; the stereo sounds great, but I think I'll listen to the mono because I'm kindof an audiophile.

The issue is? This mono mix's quality is embarassing. There's hissing in the background through the whole thing; it sounds like it was a really early vinyl-to-CD transfer, with a bad noise filter. The strange part is, this new mono remaster is from 2006 while the stereo tracks date to 2000. However, the stereo tracks are supposedly HDCD, so... I don't know what to say.

Waaah!

I think I'm a bit unique because I predominantly listen to film score... I have a very very large collection, and absolutely am obsessed with it! To me, film score and orchestra in general is the basis of music... to me it's what could be called "music". It's so very capable of expressing almost any kind of emotion, from very simple, to very complex... it's also incredibly large and epic, and I just love it.

E.S. POSTHUMUS is awesome! Love those guys and their great, great music.

Sorry, I make movies... so naturally that's what I listen to: movie music.

Then there's the 7% of other music I listen to... which is a mixed bag of things, and unimportant.

Quality band. Saw them live in '96.

Speaking of music did anyone hear that Jack White of the White Stripes and Alicia Keys recorded the new Bond theme?

A duet wtf?

I loved Chris Cornell's opening to Casino Royale but refused to buy the soundtrack when that was not on it.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

Well, the album was actually released in stereo, it pioneered stereo sound, it was always intended to be listened to in stereo, that's the novelty of it

Octorox, you're wrong. Brian Wilson was the sound mixer, and he mixed in mono.  The first version of it in TRUE stereo was in '99.  Previous "stereo" releases were what is I believe called duophonic, or a simple splitting of certain audio channels, not done by the original audio mixers.
