Anyone hear news that The Muppet Show is being released to DVD? I love that show...especially the two old geezers that used to rip the performances from the balcony.

Waldorf and Stanley or something similar IIRC?

About time the Muppets came to dvd - will be buying it for my niece (of course )

Statler and Waldorf. They were great.

I hope they do it, too. All they've got on DVD so far are some of the "greatest hits". I think there have been two or three DVDs with three episodes on each. I own one of them.

Don't think so. They've been talking about season sets of Muppets for some time now.

I can't use that excuse yet. I am the kid. At least according to my wife I am.

DAYV, are those season sets coming from Disney, or is CTHE having one last kick @ the cat?

LOL...unfortunately the excuse won't last long.

I remember sleeping over my grandparent's house when the show was in first run. That was like the favorite show to watch while on the sofa bed under the sleeping bag, stomach full of ice cream and a hot chocolate close at hand. Ahhhhh....good times.

It has lasted so far. I'll keep playing it up as long as I can.

I also remember when they syndicated reruns of the show, and I finally got to see the early episodes. The evolution of the various puppets over the first year or two is amazing.

I never looked before today, but the library where I work has a copy of the 'Best of' with Mark Hamill. Once I get my hands on it, its going into my Star Wars DVD compilation.
