Mass5160’s 1995 Star Wars Trilogy UK ISD Executor - ‘The Definitive Collection’ - VHS Box Set Preservation Project

The films…

Star Wars: 5.02gb
Empire Strikes Back: 5.09gb
Return Of The Jedi: 5.20gb

Total Size: 15.3gb. mkv files.

The bonus features…

Star Wars: 3.72gb - ‘An Interview with George Lucas (1 of 3) + Supplemental Section’
Empire Strikes Back: 4.16gb - ‘An Interview with George Lucas (2 of 3) + Supplemental Section’
Return Of The Jedi: 3.30gb - ‘An Interview with George Lucas (3 of 3) + Supplemental Section’
From Star Wars to Jedi - Making of a Saga: 2.87gb

Total Size: 14gb. mkv files.

The Workflow: ‘If I remember correctly, the workflow was Panasonic FS 200 to Digital using a Hauppauge ImpactVCB-e, video captured over S-Video, and audio via line-in using integrated audio hardware, all captured losslessly using AmaRecTV v3.10, and then transcoded to 576i, using Handbrake.’

Format: 720x576i (for those of us old enough to remember 576i was once considered to be HD standard!)

^ this preservation project is from a Box Set with sealed tapes - so all credit & kudos to Mass5160 for undertaking this project.

One of the trailers for the ISD Executor set (Star Wars; 3 minute video): www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fAY4HraX1E (back when they were allowed to claim that the film you are buying won 7 Oscars; can’t say that since the 1997 Special Editions - and onwards…)

Thanks Jason. Quite a nice set. I still have mine and no way to play PAL tapes. So preservations are a must.
