so... basically any non-catholic in new jersey?

If this is true, then Kevin Smith has way too much free time.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I'm not so we would ever get an admission like that... do you?

I know if I was famous in Hollywood and I made changes to somebody else's work and released them on my own, underground as "bootlegs" I wouldn't go on a discussion board saying "hey, its me guys... don't sue me please".

Like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop, the world may never know.

NOTE: If you were around for the original trilogy you will definitely get that one

MagnoliaFan is not Kevin Smith. He's Peter Jackson.

Laserman is Kevin Smith. MeBeJedi is Jason Mewes.

jimbo is Ahmed Best.

TK47 is Quentin Tarantino.

Rikter is Rick McCallum.

And the really weird thing is ...

I am George Lucas.

Right, but you're still not addressing the real question.

Who am I?
For as much as some people claim to hate what Star Wars has become, they sure seem incapable of shutting up about it.

How is the quality of the Ep1 edits?

Are they on dual layer DVDs? I assume the official release is better quality if it's not dual layered.

I may be interested. Let me know.

So there's The Phantom Edit, The Phantom RE-Edit, and then the Magnoliafan Balance of the Force edit?

Is this right?

I loved the BOTF subtitles for Jar Jar during the ground battle. "Oh shit! Oh shit!" LMAO!

Thanks for the update Lunch Box... so who's running the store?
Author
Time
Yep, Walt and Brian are running the East Coast Stash. I don't remember the West Coast Stash staff. Viewaskew.com doesn't list who runs them either. But here are the addresses for both stores in case anyone's in the area...

This is apparently the only place on the internet that still believes Kevin Smith re-edited The Phantom Menace

Guys, Smith has actually debunked this rumor personally on a posting at his viewaskew.com messageboard a LONG time ago, back in like, 2000 or 2001. Something like that. He had neither the time nor the inclination to do it. He makes references to the movies in his movies--but he's written a couple essays that happen to mention he's not really that big of a fan of the movies anymore. Wasn't really all that interested in them even before Lucas Special Editioned em. He thought Phantom Menace needed work, but he was busy writing and directing his own movies. He simply didn't care enough about the movie either way to want to put in the time to re-edit it.

Besides--he's not even really an editor. He's a writer first, a director second.

And he wasn't put in the "directors influenced by star wars' Because his films aren't really influenced by Star Wars. There's jokey references, but that's not an example of "influencing" Smith has gone on record saying his influences are Richard Linklater and Spike Lee. He doesn't really try to make movies like George Lucas, and it wasn't Star Wars that inspired him to start making movies--it was "Slackers."

OK perhaps Richard Linklater did it.

Now who is to say Spike Lee didn't do it?
