Just noticed something in Jedi - Deleted scene?

Hi there,

I was watching ROTJ today and spotted something I hadn't seen before. Outside the shield bunker on Endor, just as the rebels are initialy surrendering I noticed an individual in what looks like a scout trouper uniform (minus the helmet) with his hands on his heads along with the rest of the rebel force. Looked like he could have been some kind of spy or infiltrator.

In 20 something years of viewing I'd never noticed that before.

Does anyone know if this was part of any deleted scene or unused idea from an earlier script?

Am I the only person to have missed this all these years?

I first noticed it in the Special Edition. I'm not sure about it being deleted, as I haven't heard about it.

Yes, that is the result of what is thought to be a deleted scene.

As you recall, Han lures the lone scout into a group of Rebels, and the scout surrenders immediately. That's where the armor came from.
Shortly after, as the bunker door opens, if you look in the background, you can see the scout helmet going onto someone's head. That's a rebel putting on the helmet.

There is also a picture, and I've got it on the Behind the Magic CD set, of Han tossing the helmet to the rebel, right before they enter the bunker.

I don't believe I've ever seen anything about the story behind it, so that's the best I can give you.

NOpe that scene was always there but in the SE and the 2004 sets the backgrounds are just cleaner
