Detolas Custom BluRay Set - (Pic Heavy)

Hi there…It is finaly done 😃
Some of you might know that I was working on my Custom BluRay Set for the last Year…
I Made my own Covers, Booklets, Discs and Boxset.
I Made it as a Chritmas Present for my Dad and wanted it to look as close to an Professional Release as possible… but with some retro charme 😉

If someone is interested in the Process I can do a Tutorial on how I built the Box set…

Some Details:

• The Box Set and the Booklets are German, I might do English Versions if there is any Interest here…
• Every Movie got 4 Discs - 1:Original US Version 2. Original German Version 3. Special Features 4. Documentaries
• additional there are some Trilogy Bonus Discs
• Some of you already know the Front Cover I specialy Designed for this Set, I posted it awhile ago and got great feedback from the Comunity 😃
• I Scanned and Reworked most of the Posterart myself to asure the Best Quality…
• The Box is build by myself and closes by Magnets…
• I might add some paper goodys in the Future!

That is fine work. I am guessing the box you used is from the Hobbit blu rays?

no I don’t know the Hobbit Box… I just have the normal Extended Editions.
This Box is Build by myself from scretch…

I uses grey cardboard with a thickness of 3mm and covered it then with an special Black “Wax Paper” (similar to the Force Awakens 3D Blu Ray… but that was an coinsident 😉 )

Gotcha. Awesome work. I used an extra Hobbit collection box that I had because the Criterion cases I wanted to use for the set are larger than regular cases. Do you have a brand name on the black ‘wax paper’? I might want to buy some if I decide to redo my current boxed set. Also, can I get a download link for the poster you created? I need one last piece for my set and I think your poster will work perfectly.

The set looks wonderful. I too vote for the tutorial and also the English version.

This is the most beautiful fan box set builds I have ever seen. I would love to see a tutorial on how it was made.

This is without a doubt the best fan made box sets I’ve ever seen. How did you make the magnetic doors to open the box and how did you put magnets in there anyway? So many questions. I’d absolutely love to see a tutorial on how to make the box itself.

P.S. In your honest opinion, would you recommend the three-disc Blu-Ray cases ala The Force Awakens or three-disc Criterion Collection Blu-Ray cases?

Where did you get the “wax paper?” I’ve been searching for it for months lol.

This box would be the pièce de résistance for my set.
