can anyone tell me what the opening crawl of MagnoliaFan's "Balance of the Force" reads? I'm working on a dvd cover for my eventual copy, and I'm looking for inspiration for the back cover.

Episode I

BALANCE OF THE FORCE

For a thousand generations, the
Galactic Republic has thrived under
the guidance of the Jedi Knights.
But now, even under the semblance
of peace, a crisis stirs.

The Nemoidian Trade Federation,
outraged by the prohibition of slave
labor in core systems, has seized
the peaceful planet of Naboo with a
blockade of deadly warships.

While the Seante's endless rhetoric
drowns Naboo's cries for justice,
Chancellor Valorum has secretly
dispatched two Jedi Knights to
resolve the conflict...

I find that answer vague and unconvincing. Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? And say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Episode II

THE CLONE WAR

Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic
Republic. Over a thousand star
sytems, under the leadership of
the mysterious Count Dooku, have
declared their intention to seceed
from the Republic.

This seperatist movement has
made it nearly impossible for the
limited number of Jedi Knights to
continue maintaining peace and
order throughout the galaxy.

Senator Amidala, former Queen of
Naboo, is returning to Coruscant for
the first time in a decade, to
vote on the issue of creating an
Army of the Republic, to combat
the growing rebellion...

Is there any place were I can download the Magnolian Fan edits? Aside from getting them from rikter, is there a bittorrent available or a copy on an Irc server or something similiar? Any help would be appreciated .

^ you could try and get them from MagnoliaFan himself - he posts here too.

As far as I know (which isn't a lot) they aren't available as a torrent yet.

Rikter has said that he will upload the Magnoliafan edits when he gets a chance. I am psyched to watch them, considering all of the changes that I've read on here, especially the Jar Jar Binks stuff.

Thanks, by getting them from him do you mean, sending the dvds or cds by us mail, or getting them like sending the files to me through irc, messenger, etc.??

I could be opening a whole can of worms here but I didn't care much for the magnolia edits. Granted the editing was good and all and they choices of stuff to edit was pretty spot on. I just never like Episode I at all.

To each their own...
If you never felt there was any part of TPM or AotC that had any promise, no amount of changes I made, beyond writing and shooting an entirely alternate film was really going to change your feelings about that.

The real reason I'm posting in this thread is that it has come to my attention that a typo somehow slipped its way into the crawl of CW and somehow has gone unnoticed for over a year...

I've gone back and fixed the crawl along with rewording one little part that kind of bugged me and I'll be passing the film (as I see it today ) on to Rikter shortly.

Don't get me wrong. Magnoliafan did a great job with the edit. It is truely an awesome looking piece of work.

I always felt that The Phantom Menace was a week movie. I liked parts but not enough where any edit will make me like it. So yeah Magnolia is right. There is no way for me to like that movie.

I can pretty much say the same thing about Attack of the Clones. I liked that a lot more but it still had issues. Magnoliafan did make it a bit more easier to watch.

Oh and I did see that typo but forgot to post something on the forum.

Keep up the hard work Magnoliafan.
