The next episode shows the same timeframe as the last episode - but from the cylon/kidknapped President's viewpoint...

(hope it's a good 'un becaouse Adama giving up his command to wait in a Raptor for the Persident to show up is a little 'out there'...)

Actually, after thinking about it, my "judge" theory is ridiculous.

But the final cylon *is* painfully obvious - so obvious that no one's mentioned it yet:

... Boxey.

Oh, That was a sneaky trick 'Three' played. Sad to say, I fell for it.

Yeah, me too ...

Best episode of the season thus far, though! But I'm sick of SciFi spoiling SO much of the next week's episodes in their previews ... still, looks like the midseason cliffhanger this Friday will be intense ...
Author

Agreed. I try to keep spoiler free.

I'm almost afraid to find out what 'Three' knows. I mean, we know too much already and it's changed the flavour of the show i think. Tyrol use to be one of my favourite characters - Now I don't really care what happens with him.

Do we know how long we are going to have to wait after episode 10?
Author
Time
Probably early 2009. Nothing official, all still TBA, they're shooting the final episode later this month.

^ be brave and do not click it - I was weak and could not resist, and now bemoan the fact I have no time machine to travel forward into the future to watch what seems like a seriously great ep... Doh!

I have a good feeling there will be at least one being on Earth who is called by many names. One of those names being Count Iblis. At least I have my fingers crossed. It is the last major story thread not revisited from the original show.

Well, I didn't expect them to get there so soon.

I was more or less expecting they'd find what they've found, but I thought it'd happen round episode 13-15, not 10.

I have to say that I very much liked the events of episode 10, but I was not happy with how it was done. The episode had a very rushed feeling, and the script was not strong at all. That should have been a two hour story, and might have been better if presented as a mid hiatus movie like "Razor" was. I'm sure they had good reason for the way it was done, but I still feel it was a rush job. Some of the events sure could have been better told with more drama and interaction. But that said, i'm still happy with where the story line led us to.

Yeah, at the very end there it was almost like they were building up to a huge reveal but then nothing really. I think it might have made more of an impact if we knew exactly what they were hoping to find, and not simply "earth"...

Obviously that can't be the end of the story cuz we still have 10 episodes to go. I read somewhere that there will be another series of webisodes between this half of the season and the latter.

I think there are also plans for a few more 'Razor' type films set ater the conclusion of the series so I'm really not sure how the end of the season is going to play out.

The new TV-movies will not take place after the end of the series, they'll be more prequel/"mid"-quel type things like "Razor" was. Which I don't really care about, since "Razor" was kind of pointless in the long run.
Author
Time
Ah Okay, I'd only heard rumblings. That seems a tad less interesting then. Razor felt too rushed with at least 3 time periods covered.

I'm really surprised that they found Earth mid-season.
So what does everyone reckon? Is this Earth in our future after we've fucked it?

I think it could very well be pre-history Earth of the very distant past. That sure looks like a soon to be sunken city at the end of that episode.

The continent of Atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
So great an area of land, that from her western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed
to the South and the North Americas with ease,
in their ships with painted sails.

To the East Africa was a neighbour, across a short strait of sea miles.
The great Egyptian age is but a remnant of The Atlantian culture.
The antediluvian kings colonised the world
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis.
Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships to all corners of the Earth.
On board were the Twelve:
The poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist,
The magician and the other so-called Gods of our legends.
Though Gods they were -

And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind
Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new
Hail Atlantis!

I thought it could be the distant past too, but the structures in the distance seemed to be modern (to us) buildings with steel girders, etc. Atlantis was supposed to be highly advanced though, so I guess that would fit. I hope it's not Atlantis though, that would be lame.

The way I imagine it, the 12 colonies came from the Earth of our distant past. Sometime during their absence we lost the technology they used to leave Earth, regressed scientifically and socially, and then destroyed ourselves. The colonists have now returned, thousands of years later.

Of course, neither of those theories explain why there was a VW Beetle on Caprica in one of the resistance episodes...

THEY HAVE YET TO REVEAL THE 5th CYLON.

The thing with that is I don't really care anymore - now that we have a truce between Cylons and Humans and Tigh/Anders/Tyrol/Torrie have been more or less let off the hook it doesn't really matter who the 5th is as the threat to both the fleet and the 5th Cylon has been neutralised.

Although... how did Baltar survive the destruction of Caprica? We saw him engulfed in the explosion. Surely he is a Cylon?

Good point....I did read somewhere that after we've seen the very end of this season, it'll make us want to watch the very beginning again.
