I've just started to watch them all again from the mini series, right up to series 2.
Thing is, I watch them in bed and fall asleep after about 20mins.
I'm only on episode 1 of series 1. It's taken about 2 weeks just to watch the pilot episodes

What a top show BSG is.

That and Prison Break are my faves at the moment. I did like Lost, but he second series seems to be going no where. Still, only 3 or 4 to go and I still keep watching.

SCI FI CHANNEL UNVEILS POWERHOUSE DEVELOPMENT SLATE

Unprecedented Commitment to Original Programming With Top Tier Creative Talent Including Jesse Alexander, Freddie Prinze Jr., Eric McCormack

NEW YORK SCI FI Channel's Mark Stern, EVP, Original Programming, announced today an aggressive slate of original scripted dramas, miniseries, alternative reality and late night series for the Channel. Already established as an industry leader with highly acclaimed and award-winning shows such as 'Battlestar Galactica,' SCI FI Channel's latest slate of high profile projects showcases top industry luminaries and offers imaginative, broad appeal entertainment.

Scripted Series

'CAPRICA'

From executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick ('Battlestar Galactica'), writer Remi Aubuchon ('24') and NBC Universal Television Studio, this new series is set over a half a century before the events that play out in 'Battlestar Galactica.' The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high-technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better. But a startling breakthrough in robotics is about to occur, one that will bring to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first living robot - a Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William Adama, who will one day become the commander of the 'Battlestar Galactica') 'Caprica' weaves corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television's first science fiction family saga.

Sounds a pretty good idea to me!!

Could be very good. Could be very bad. I hope they don't screw things by doing too much at one time or making it a damn soap opera instead of a space opera.

I don't want BSG to become the next Star Trek, or Stargate (I hate Atlantis).

It could be alright, but I'd rather it wait until this series is done.

Same here, Sybeman - I wouldn't mind another BSG series after the current one finishes - really hope this doesn't affect the quality of the current show...

The SciFi channel in the US is showing BSG 1980 tomorrow! Finally! 8 out of 10 episodes will be shown, meaning I'd better clean out the DVR!

SciFi EST Schedule for tomorrow

If the link doesn't work, just go to SciFi.com and click schedule, August 28th.

Yea, the show is subpar compared to the original, but it's good in it's own right. i just wish they would show those final 2 episodes.

up to webisode 6 now - fair play to the BSG people - the production levels onese webisodes are pretty high, would not look out of place in the actual proper episodes

Agreed. They're obviously not spending too much on sets and such, but still nicely done.

I really like Tigh's character. One of my favorites since the beginning.

^ he's certainly an interesting character - with the added quality of the actor's distinguished gravelly voice.

I'd love to know just what he's talking about when he says 'even in war, there are some things you just don't do...' on the season 3 previews - though not long to go now

Episode was 2 hours and I got to see most of the final hour to hour and a half.

Interesting information coming out. Couple surprises. Pretty big episode cliffhanger.
I was worried that not watching the webisodes might mean I'd miss a chunk of the story, but I didn't feel that way.

I'd tell you what that line meant, oojason, but I would want to spoil things for you.

Final thought: I noticed some parallels to today's world in the episode.

All I can say is: Unbelievable. IMO the best show on television. They've cranked it up a notch, and it was already a great show last year.

Holy shit. That was the best 2 hours of TV I've seen in so long I can't remember ... absolutely stunning. Any reservations I had about the direction taken at the end of Season 2 - gone completely. If this show doesn't have a run that rivals the dredge that is Stargate, I may give up on TV altogether.
