Any Chess Players Out There? — Page 3

This gave me an idea for a thread. The chess thread. We'll play each other like people who play over the mail or e-mail. You get into the thread and say that you are looking for an oponent. If there is someone willing to play, you decide who's the white and who's the black, and white starts. You could declare your movement in the "classic" way, like, Nf3, Nh6, or by the letters and numbers method, like A2-A3, or A2xB3. What do you think?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I was just about to suggest that, actually. It's a really good idea. If we wanted, we could have people commenting on moves previously played, blunders, etc.

I think the best way to do this would be to move it to the Scheming Mind website. It is ready made for online "correspondence" chess, and games can be made public for viewing. It also has a GUI based on an internet chessboard standard that allows drag/drop or click based moves and keeps a history. This is where Warbler and I just played...Thoughts? If you agree, you can get a free account, and try to keep your OT.com usernames, if possible. Unfortunately I signed up a year ago so my name is KingsClash. Let me know.

^ I'd be up for that.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within : About : Help : Site Rules : Fan Project Rules : Announcements
How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com - includes info on how to ask for a fan project and how to search for projects and threads on OT•com.

A Project Index for Star Wars Preservations (Harmy’s Despecialized & 4K77/80/83 etc) : A Project Index for Star Wars Fan Edits (adywan & Hal 9000 etc)

Take your time to look around this site before posting… Do NOT just lazily make yet another ‘link request’ post - or a new thread asking for projects.

I'm in.

If there are no objections, I'll get it started once I know there's enough interest...

We'd have to agree on the time controls. I believe we can select from 30 days, +1 day for each move made. Or we can do 10/+1. So, for example under 30/+1, on the first day my clock would read 30 days remaining. I make a move. It goes to 31 days, and so on.
