Grinder, that's quite the dramatic demonstration of picture flaws! I hope you'll consider posting some post-TooT results. It'd be way cool to see what you started with, and what you're able to come up with as a final result.

I understand that the X0 Project is also using TooT (including some customized departures to do some more specific tasks), but I can't imagine that starting with an excellent capture from discs that aren't typically known as rotters will be anywhere near as dramatic as yours could be. The discs I have don't seem to have nearly that amount of junk, so TooT-ing results are also pretty subtle when you're just looking at screen caps.

It's also by far the highest amount of rot I have ever seen, the other two are nearly rot free, I find this very awkward. Rot is caused by oxidation of the foil due to contaminations during the production of the disc, right? I hope TooT can still clean it up. I will be doing the enitire first issue PAL trilogy, so if it works you'll see the result show up on a.b.starwars. I'll create a thread for the project when I start capturing. It will be a 100% straight transfer (except for the TooTing on ANH) so the largest amount of time will go into encoding. The hard pat is to clear op 80 gigs of didc space.

P.S. Did you get the PM?

That's no moon. It's a LaserDisc.

Not having seen your sources, I can't promise it will work. But just between you and me, I promise it will work!

It is highly unlikely that both other discs have flaws in exactly the same places, so you should be fine. I'll be looking for your "Wow! TooT (as commissioned by Karyudo) is amazing!" thread once you've see the results!

I did. I'd have answered already, but my mailbox is full again. This board's mail system drives me bonkers. However, I answer direct e-mail to 'karyudo @ gmail . com' promptly!
