I have finished downloading (with JDownloader) the multipart RAR files for the AVCHD last night. Did Harmy reupload the RAR files yesterday? JDownloader has failed parts 14-17 so I pasted the links from tehParadox again, but I got a checksum error when extracting with WinRAR.

Now I’m downloading the whole thing again directly with Firefox. My internet connection is too slow with uloz.to (average 100 Kbps). Are there any public torrens avaiable?

If you had started at uloz right away, you’d have it by now 😉

Yes, I grabbed both the MKV and AVCHD overnight - very impressed by FreeRapid. Speeds vary depending on time and your location, though

Maybe not. I started the moment it was announced, and if I hadn’t switched to the torrent, I’d still be downloading from uloz right now.

Funny, I started the download with Free Rapid Downloader when I went to sleep on Sunday evening, and I watched the movie with my breakfast on Monday morning.

Use jdownloader with 15-20 simultaneous downloads and you got in 2 hours, depending on your connection.

Took me 35mins with my 35mbps fibre optic broadband. Did the whole trilogy in around 90mins…

Is is better to buy a blu-ray burner and convert the huge MKV files, or is the picture quality comparable to AVCHD files? I’ve downloaded the AVCHF ISO files and burned to a Dual Layer DVD, but wondering if I’m missing anything in the picture quality?

I downloaded the 22GB version in 4 hours from uloz.to, average 2MB/s is that slow?

I averaged 0.00016Mbps. Apparently mileage varies, even especially on the Internet.

Is your internet speed really bad in general? If not, and you gave it multiple tries (of course), this must be your ISP throttling bandwidth from that site. My ISP lightly throttles bandwidth for Mega and other file lockers. If I turn on a VPN, the speed jumps up quite a bit.

In my case, it’s probably both.

Is it the same problem with spleen/torrents for you?

Thanks, Harmy! Can’t wait to check this out. Probably be the weekend before I get time.
Life here has been one non-stop batch of things after another. Looking forward to taking a little time to enjoy this from start to finish.

Never did check the workprint, so it’ll be a little more “fresh” than for some folks. No matter what, I’m sure it’ll be fantastic and very enjoyable.

The splean (mis-spelling intentional) seemed all good for me. I hope others can figure it all out for themselves and enjoy as well.

No torrents worked great in this case, so I have it now. But my Internet service is dismal under ideal conditions, no question about that, and there is likely some throttling on top of that.

My understanding is the MKV will be higher quality than the AVCHD, even when burned to a disc. I actually bought a bd burner specifically for Despecialized. Worth it.

Actually it’s a matte box and the shot is unchanged from the BD, where it was in turn unchanged from the original version (as evidenced by the presence of matte boxes).

But I’ve never actually noticed those little guys before. Cool little detail!

Neither did I until I watched your version Harmy! It’s all good! I figured it was an older effect since there is a brightness shift around the box much like the Tie Fighters throughout the series. It’s a cool little detail indeed. Thanks again for this!
