Except I'm seeing this as more of a Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars colliding. It looks like the Death Star, yes. But much like the "engraving" of the headpiece to the Staff of Ra that was burned into Toht's hand, the equator is the reverse of the Death Star and they likely don't have the other half of the moon "correct" as a result.

Jedi Mystic - "The markings on dis half of the Death Star says dat the Rebel Base is located near Yavin-6. But dis side says to take back 2 for the great Wookiee Life Day Celebration."
Indiana Jones - "Sallah, you said the Death Star that the Empire built only has an equator on one side, right?"
Sallah - "Yes. Why?"
Indiana - "They only have half the message!"
Sallah and Indiana together - "They're going to destroy the wrong moon!"

Actually, what's freaky about your little mock dialog, Bossk, is the fact that now 2 moons have that weird superlaser look to them.

Saturn Moon Mimas

Look at 2 of the images side-by-side:



The Mimas crater has been known for almost 20 years. I've got pictures of it in a mid-80s BanthaTracks newsletter.

Oh hell, I wasn't even looking at the crater. I was just looking at the equator which was reminding me of the trench run scene. Now I'm seeing it.

That is a ton better.

The similarities are amazing.

When I first saw the first image on that site Davdar posted, I didn't think of the trench run.
I thought of the scene where the Falcon is being tractored in. In fact, I'm tempted to rebuild the scene from that image using some 3D rendering software.

Wouldn't it be insane if we are looking at the sky at night, and our own moon grows a "mouth" like a pac-man, and starts eating the stars? And suddenly a spaceship shoots it, and the moon dies like pacman did, sound and everything "peeweeweewee pop pop".

The sound would come out of a man with a loudspeaker on his head. Then the sun would come down and chase me, like on that super mario 3 level... You know when I was in argentina my biggest fear was that the "sun" on the flag of Argentina would somehow get loose and try to kill me...

Skyman, those are flippin' awesome!

Yep, the west coast has been the first target since 1997 when LFL (located in Marin County, California) decided to over-glorify the destruction of the first Death Star with that ring of flames. The Empire didn't appreciate the quashing of their morale like that, so they are striking.

Reminds me of the episode of Arrested Develpoment when the DA insists that he's got conclusive evidence of WMDs in Iraq near the houses George Bluth Sr. was building, but it turns out to be a shot of Tobias' testicles that he accidentally took with his digital camera.
