Lightspeed Jump at the end of ESB

Does anybody know if the closing jump really was in ESB originally. I myself didn't see the Trilogy until 1997, with the SE of ANH and the original (P&S) of ESB and Jedi.

Now, in the Theatrical Cut of ESB, I believe, the closing shot had the Rebel Fleet jump to lightspeed just before it irised down to the closing credits. Now this was supposedly removed from the 1995 THX(Faces) set, but I have no way to verify this. Are there any earlier sources to confirm this secret edit.

IMDB's "Alternate Version" page, for ESB

I would personally like to se a release of the Trilogy that is EXACTLY like the '77, '80, and '83 releases.

but that not going to happen unless somebody digs up the original theatrical prints.

PS. is the door "locked" or "secure"?

Well, I saw ESB at least a dozen times in the theater in 1980 and later was able to get an awful bootleg on Betamax that I played the hell out of. I don't have this tape anymore, but I don't believe the rebels ever did a hyperspace jump before the end credits. I think I would have noticed the change in the first video version I received Christmas of '84.

I think its just that the brightness of the Nebulon-B's engines goes up right before the swipe to accentuate the ending of the movie and the peak of the music.(Real technical terms there)

Then somebody needs to go to IMDB and correct that mistake.

Hyperspace jump never happened

I realize this obviously wasn’t in any version of the movie, but I DEFINITELY remember that happening of some interpretation of the ending sequence, before I even knew anyone else had that memory. Reading through Ady’s opening post on ESB:R reminded me of it.

Was it in the Lego game by any chance?
