A better example would be something like Serious Sam.

I've never had the good fortune to play a Serious Sam game...er... seriously.

But I hear that most of them are fun.

You've all lost me now; I haven't gotten into any of these games.

Serious Sam is a good solid no-brain shooter - well worth the £10 it cost me

Can get a little repetitive, but it's damn fun squishing all those many aliens...

I wish I had ten pounds, as they are worth more than dollars.

Which Serious Sam did you pick up? The new one for the GC?

That is the link I posted at the beginning of this thread.

The Trailer at Gamespot is the long version, and I've only seen the shortened version on TV.

I wasnt implying that Syphon Filter was a good game - rather that it had little to no emphasis on stealth. Certainly, Serious Sam is a better example, but i think that you might acknowledge MGS and SF are in the same genre (at least SF attempted to be).

At any rate, MP2 looks amazing, even without the tv add I saw the other day. Which isnt to say that I didnt like the add, but simply, Id be buying the game without having ever seen the add.

Aye, Serious Sam: The Next Encounter for the GC

Here in the UK it seems a few of the gaming shops (like GAME & Gamestation) are starting to sell off their 'older' GameCube stocks quite cheaply...

Anyone here seen the new TV ads for Metroid Prime Two? Hilarious; even my wife was laughing her a$$ off.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I hope you don't mean the one's with Samus walking as her armor forms on her.

Here, even my Wal-Mart has most of its 'cube titles for less than 35 bucks.

THAT'S THE ONE THAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. I'M SURE IT'S THE ONE THAT GUNDARK IS TALKING ABOUT ALSO.

No the one I saw ran during Tuesday's episode of Scrubs, and takes on the appearance of one of those "Just Say No" ads. Must be seen to be believed.

Sounds pretty... entertaining.

I picked up Prime 2 earlier today. I haven't dived into the single player game yet, but me and my bro played a few rounds of Multiplayer.

The verdict: It won't be replacing anyone's Halo2 LAN party, but it is still pretty fun.

The only thing about MP2 so far that I dislike is something I should be used to.

Nintendo still insists on using as little voice acting as possible. I swear that Metroid Fusion had more voice samples than both Metroid Primes put together.

Speaking of Metroid, has anyone played the demo on the new DS yet?

I played it Friday night at EB.

I'm thinking this one may be the DS' first killer app, if Nintendo can pull off the single player game.

Granted the main purpose of the game is to show off DS multiplayer, but I don't know anybody else interested in the DS, so I think I might be going it solo for a while. The game itself controled fairly well, though I assume the thumbstrap, which wasn't attatched to the demo unit, will make the iffy quality of the aiming better.

The EB I went to sunday had it set up so that you used both of the pads instead of the touchscreen, it pissed me off.

But I liked using the stylus and the way the unit was compatable with lefties, I'll just have to wait until my DS comes in to check out the thumb nubbin.

It works best with the stylus if you place it between your thumb and forefinger like holding a penicl, but with you hand opened, using you middle finger to fire the shoulder buttons. It is a bit inacurate, but so much more precise than aiming with joysticks or the D-pad.
