A very good friend that I went to collage with is Japanese and living in Japan. Well he works for Pioneer now. He told me that one of his friends that he works with rip the Star Wars LDs on a Pioneer Laserdisc work Station and encode it to DVD on dual layer. I ask him what LDs did they use he said they used the Face set. I do not know to much other then from what my friend told me. He did say you cannot tell the DVD from the laserdisc the encode copy is that good.

Your friend is blind. For one thing, the colors on the DVD are off. If he can't tell the difference, well........

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

I hope you'll be pleased with it - and maybe you could give us a mini-review or post a few screencaps to give us some idea of the quality.

A perfect copy of the LDs is pretty cool. Especially if its been done by real proffesionals.

Screens would be nice please.

Wow, this has incredible potential.

Faces set, transferred by professionalls with the best known LD player in the world, to a dual layered DVD.

Give it some good menus and chapter selections and damn, that would be the best Star Wars Trilogy DVD set Ever.

My stance on revising fan edits.

This guy is amazing.

I Think the author of the thread was refering to the accuracy of the laserdisc to DVD capture.
