Sort of premature, but is it really that big of a deal to you? It's just a bootleg cover...

Um...why use the Death Star for Episode II. That's kinda...premature.
I used the Death Star for episode 2 for 2 very good reasons

1. because it was was brought up at the very end of Ep2 (besides, they are all easilly interchagable anyway) and
2. becasue my members did not want to wait until AFTER Episode 3 was released, however long that is, to have the Death Star cover.... I dont know ... something about how I dont release any covers for any films BEFORE the announcement of the DVD release...just to answer the assinine comment coming out of the one who thinks that I do any of this for bootlegging purposes...it never occured to you that the original covers suck.... If you notice, there is no information on ANY Episode 3 cover in anything I posted above and clearly stated that the ones are there are merely STAND-IN covers just to complete the spine image on peoples shelves.

I would expect those that know me better to also know that I have a little more integrity, and would expect those tht DONT know me to perhaps think before they speak and mind who the are talking about before they start talking about them.

Hopefully this thread hasnt just turned ugly.

Ok, I called it a bootleg cover, how is that saying you do it strictly for bootlegging purposes? And just for your information, I like your covers. Lighten up.

Seriously, no disrespect was meant in any of that. lol, I don't think we needed a paragraph or two.

Sorry for getting huffy, but honestly, you could have picked a better word - like "replacement" which is what it REALLY is.....its been the bootleggers who have been the cause of the problems that several of the various cover sites have had, and Im not too particularly fond of being grouped in with them.

Not Bad Sluggo - its funny looking at it, because I remember all those nostalgiacally whenever I think of that show that I must have seen maybe 10 times as a kid whenever they aired it.

FYI - There is a little grey box in your UPC code

Cool covers Sluggo

Intriguing choice of all 3 of the Faces covers for your 1st Supplemental pic - most impressive.

Like the way there is a pic of GL advising Greedo on the 2nd cover - surprised there hasn't been some comical captioning over the years with that photo

Anyone know if Spidernap finished and posted his inksaver OT covers?

His MagnoliaFan Edit covers were the dogs wotsits, I seem to remember him starting similar style covers for the Original Trilogy but havn't heard anything since (or I've missed it)...

Nice covers sluggo. One nitpick: there are some left over pixels on the edges of the Star Wars logo on the second cover. I asume that's the remnants of the background of the image you took the logo from. The Best Brands of the World website has vector graphics logos for a lot of stuff including the "Faces" Star Wars logo. Using CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator (or a number of other programs) you can convert the vector logo to a bitmap of whatever resolution you need. The "Faces" logo for Star Wars is here:

http://web.brandsoftheworld.com/search/?query_id=8021819&page=15&brand_id=113762

I recommend actually downloading the vector logo and taking a look at it. The thumbnails they show on the website aren't always a good representation of what the logo will really look like at a decent resolution.

Anybody here have a scan of, or knows where I can find the image that is on the back of the Definitive Collection's outer box? It's essentially a blend of all three theatrical posters. My idea is to put together a cover sleeve for a 4-Disc case that reproduces the DC package. Rikter designed one a while back that is quite close to what I want; I'm thinking of using it as a template for the overall sizing, color scheme etc. Maybe I could throw in that image of the TIE fighter with X-Wing in pursuit from the DC spine too.

Could someone please help me with a dilema I'm having with making MagnoliaFan covers?

I'm more or less finished with the covers (which are really nothing more than cannabilizing
other covers into one custom and adding a few things), but I have a problem.
I do not know how to use Photoshop. I've done all this on MS Paint.

Here they are:

Now as you can see, the front cover has a big problem. Under the logos, the added titles "Balance of the Force"
and "The Clone War" look like crap. That's because I am using a crappy
program and can't do any better.

Can somebody with Photoshop touch up that little area of the covers and email it back to me?
My email is kmshelton@earthlink.net

Thanks so much in advance. Sorry to ask such a thing, but I *am* only 14 and have no clue about photo editing.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Hal, If you have the right fonts, you can use this ATOC Poster for your Clone War cover.

I know what you are thinking of. I did a reproduction for the customizable tins that is similar to the CBS FOX video design. You can find it in the customizable tins thread of the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum.

Very cool covers Hal - though it's kinda difficult to see them fully as the images are so huge that they don't fit on the screen! lol

btw - what is 'panavision' - located under the 2.35-1 widescreen logo at the bottom of the cover?

Ok, that really is a nice pic. Unfortunately my DC box does not have this pic on the rear :-( .
I noticed that the on Star Wars Videodisc Site a very low res version of this picture appears.

Maybe they can mail you a hi-res scan.

What web browser are you using?

I use Firefox which automatically scales individual images to fit the screen if I right click them and select 'view image'.

Maybe your browser has something similar... otherwise I highly recommend Firefox
