OK, now, consider every SW movie so far, O-OT and PT. Now, take out any dialogue, acting and plot. What's left? The action sequences! What are your favorite action sequences, and why? Yavin battle? Hoth battle? Endor moon space battle? Speeders chase on Endor? The pod racing? Darth Maul's fight? The chase in Coruscat? The clone atack? Yoda vs Doku? Which one?

When I first watched the trilogy entirely, back in 1995 (before that I had only seen TESB), my favorite one was the speeders chase on the Endor moon, I found it to be so cool... I also loved the Yavin battle, not as an action sequence, but on how it would have blown people's mind back in '77.

I think my favorite action sequence would have to be the Hoth battle. I really love snow-speeders for some reason, and thought the AT-ATs, and AT-STs were very neat. I think this is why I bought Shadows of the Empire for Nintendo 64 and Rogue Squadron for Gamecube, because I got to be a pilot in that battle.

By far, Luke vs. Darth Vader in Empire. The whole scene is so energetic and emotionally charged. Plus the famous revelation at its climax.

I have to go with the entire Death Star battle from ANH. It was the first movie I ever saw and it was mind-blowing. I still love to watch it - you don't need CGI for people to buy into what's on the screen.

My favorite battle is the Hoth speeder battle. Not only a technical marvel for it's time, but it is just fun to watch.

My favorite lightsaber fight is the Dual of Fates at the end of TMP. Vader vs Luke from RoTJ is a close second.

I loved the Hoth level on Rogue Sqadron the most - even better than the RL2 and Rebel Strike, always seem to have more time to go around shooting stuff in your own time

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

I love the Luke/Vader fight from Jedi, with the space battle inbetween. I love the idea of Father vs Son, and the music when Luke attacks on Vader's suggestion that Leia be turned instead was easily some of the best. I love the lightsaber battles the most. But all the action was great, outside of the mass ground battle(Gungans vs Droids vs Clones), though the ground battle in II was better than in I.

OK now remember I'm only analizing the action sequences, not the characters or the plot around it.

From the PTs, my favorite scene is the chase in Coruscant between obi-wan, anakin and that morpher assassin whose name I don't remember right now. Zed, Zid, something like that.

But I think the duel between Anakin and obi-wan will be even better

From the O-OTs, Yavin battle, the speeders chase on Endor moon, and the whole battle in space at the end of ROTJ (if you close your eyes during the ewok parts of that sequence). I never liked the action sequences on TESB so much, as I consider it not an action movie, but a more serious, plot and character driven movie.

I would have to agree with oojason and chaltab on this one. Very few fights compare to Hoth.

I think Hoth would have to be my favorite OT battle. As for the PT...I'm sure it will come up in E3, but up to now, it is probably the Duel of Fates.
I just hate stupid people.

can I nominate the battle of Naboo as the lamest Battle, Trade federation droids Vs. Gungans = WHO CARES?? just as long as the battledroids wipe out as many gungans as possible!!!! I don't think we were meant to root for the bad-guys!

Notice how I didn't even mention the Gungan battle. I don't consider it to be an action sequence at all.

I have to add, after consideration, a few more action sequences. The lightsaber duel in RotJ is top notch. The haunting music is really a compliment to the overall scene, not to mention when Luke takes Vader's hand...the look on his face...I love it.
And as far as the PT is concerned, the lightsaber battle at the end of PM, are people calling this Duel of the Fates (sorry for my ignorance I dont care much for the PT so ive not invested much time in making myself familar with it).
I was heavily disappointed with the Yoda vs. Dooku duel...thats all I have to say about that.
