I've been looking for this image in super high resolution for so damn long now it's not even funny. I'm doin' kinda the same thing, with the original posters and newer test and logos, but I'm also doing a lot of image editing and masking to get nice color washes for the skies for the back covers, makes it all look more professional I think (you'll see what I'm talking about when I post my submissions for the MeBeJedi transfer set). I've also decided to leave off the UPC barcode and copyright info, since I don't really see the point... least that's how I want my set to look.

So thanks for that image!

Hello anybody out there,

today is the day, I ´ve been expecting for the last few months: The official release off Star Wars 4-6 here in Germany.
I´ll see how it looks, but I have to admit, that I am also one of those guys, who want to have the thetrical originals too!

Today Ibrowsed through Evay and found these covers:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41575&item=6324838820&rd=1

I have almost all covers (thanks to rikter ;-)) and his torrent ), but this one is anew. Has anybody the original, cause it loos good (on first sight)

Maybe until later and greetings to everybody out there in the galaxy

Tim - sweet covers, keep up the work on them m8, they'll go down here very well.

soundtrackmaster - not sen those covers before - a bit similar to Scara's covers (in style, IIRC) - and it's not often someone puts a UK BBFC rating logo on fan-made covers these days. Very nice, though.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Found this in a google search.....looks like the pictures from the 2000 VCD's from the '97 editions.

More correctly, it would be the 2000 VCDs (which I have the honor...or not...of owning). But yes, that's the cover of the VCD of ANH. Whats up with ESB Leia?

No it isn't, I see a DVD logo and no VCD logo.

I have the one and only "official" Star Wars VCD set and that is not the cover.

This cover appears to be a really bad German (I think) DVD rip.

It looks like the cover of the VCD of ANH customized for a DVD.

Only the X-Wings have been added. Yeah, DanielB you just completely misinterpreted what i said.

It's a pictorial version of Struzan's art. The art they really should've used for the official DVDs if they wanted it to match Ep. I & II. But yeah, they needed to replace Leia with her ANH counterpart.

That Swedish cover is a pretty good design idea.

Apart from the ESB Leia and the blacked-out left side of Luke's head.

Of course the actual Struzan art for ANH special edition used an ESB Leia, so that must be why they used one here. A different ESB Leia though.

Anyone gonna have a go at reproducing it?

Are the appropriate photos out there scanned in high res?

I wanted to do a cover design myself, a pretty odd one based on the "D" poster for ANH, the carnival one. I haven't really seen the cover art that's out there ... have good ones been done based on the C and D posters for ANH? I really like the D and C posters myself.

Or - are there good high-res scans of the D and C posters out there? I don't have a scanner handy at the very moment.

(P.S. I have a large amount of web space/bandwidth. A slow connection, but a lot of space/bandwidth.)

Hello...

Look, I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

What I would like is all the DVD covers with the movie posters on the front. All the spines to match - like they already do - don't care too much about the back.

Please help

Cheers!!!!

I'm working on a nice set right now.

Taking me a little bit of time because of the high resolutions I'm using show any mistakes I make in the photoediting process...

But rest assured that they're gonna look nice. Everything from text to logos (even the offical "Star Wars" logo) are done in vector format, so the lines stay crisp. In fact I think there's only 3 bitmaps for each cover... front picture, back picture and the obligatory screencap. The nice thing about this is that I can just go into my masters and retype a few lines and PRESTO! A new set of covers for any version of the transfers you're using. Speaking of which... who's version did you need covers for?

Other than a good hi-res pic for the Jedi back cover, there's really not much left to do other than some basic text formatting and a good once over with the ol' spellchecker.

Yeah, but which original DVDs? TR47? Dr. Gonzo? I tailor a few things on the covers to properly represent the set in question. I figure it'll make it easier for those of us with varying sets. (And I think it looks cool. )

And the original movie poster images are what I'm using for the covers... took a while to track down hi res images for each one, but I've got 'em and the covers are coming along nicely. (Man, we need a nice communal FTP server for all this stuff!)

Maybe I just can't find them, but did Soulflare ever provide links to high-res copies of his OT covers (remember the really cool ESB cover with Boba Fett)? I can't find them. Help. I love those covers.

Rikter: I noticed you're hosting the 'Faces' covers. Is there any way you can be convinced to host the original Definitive Collection DVD covers? I'm not into the 'torrent' thing at all. Are there any other options? Please let me know. Thanks!
