Wow. Bookmarked.
So it took me three years to begin publishing it, but I've finally started putting me 'the inspirations of Star Wars' project online. Figured someone around here might be interested.

I love it. I was pretty surprised by the subject matter. When I first saw the name on the 250577 tumblr a couple years ago I thought the site was going to be about the modeling side of things. =P I've definitely got to set some time aside to fully dive in. There's just so much to soak in. It's fantastic.
Impressive, most impressive!
BTW, if you're still looking for a NASA vehicle that may have inspired the sandcrawler, it's not something that ever went into space, but it helped!
Where were you in '77?
Silverwook, I love you.

I'm definitely going to have to take a longer look at this when I have time.
One minor suggestion - You talk about the SW shot evolving from the THX shot but you show it in a disjointed way with the SW shot broken up by the THX shot in the middle of it. I think it would work better if you start the clip by fading in on the THX shot and then dissolving to the uninterrupted SW shot rather than the way you have it now.
My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
That was the way I initially thought I'd edit most of the videos I have, but once I started playing around with it, I figured out that setting the scene with the familiar often makes sense, before you then unveil the root of it.

In a word; Outstanding. Also, love the minimalist design with the focus being on the substance. Some of my non-nerd friends will be getting links. ;-)
Wow, that's pretty cool :-)
Awesome site, thanks!
I thought about using a lot of this 'temp' music, so it was great to see it being used over actual scenes and to hear what worked best.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
That one took me a loong time to research and write. I collect soundtracks, but to find the classical influences was something of a job actually. Happy you liked it :)

Wow. Bookmarked.
That's made by one of the members here. (Take a look a few threads down and you find this.)
EDIT: There was a thread merge for those of you who think Octorox and I are super dumb.
There's not enough other material in this to make it really interesting. We were hoping there would be more footage of other films.
The majority of the film, is still just Star Wars. Hope you plan to put more into it.

Well, it wasn't really made to be 'interesting', as much as to be truthful about the influences. You can go read http://kitbashed.com for a deeper dive into the influences, many of which can't easily be represented in a video.

Thanks for the response. In that case, maybe just highlighting the clips that were inserted, or compared, would be a better presentation.
When the movie is mostly the original, it takes too long to go through the whole thing, just to get to the parts being referred to.
