Gutted, devastated, annoyed, pi**ed and frankly fed up with it all.

Just how could lucas even CONSIDER replacing Boba Fetts voice? What is he thinking? Im so, so glad i decided to cancel my dvd order.

I dont give a damn about picture quality and to be quite frank the bonus disc doesnt look all that special, as with the indy disc which was a huge disappointment considering all the deleted scenes that were available.

Absoloutely shocking stuff from lucas, shocking. Glad i got my videos.

oh hi im new by the way.

I keep seeing the same rant about changing Boba Fett's voice. Who gives a crap the guy had what 3 lines in the movies. Does it really make that big a difference.

3 lines may not seem like much, but Boba Fett is a character shrouded in mystery and those three lines are very telling of who he is. I can understand that it really isn't that great a difference, but it's just another example of a change that is wholly unnecessary. If they change what he says, then I'm gonna be a bit more vocal on the topic.

At this point, I'm resigned to the fact that what is coming out in September is pure shit. That's why I'm not buying them. I'm renting them. I want to see what he did, but without contributing a penny to his bank account.

I find the whole thing very funny based on the fact that Jeremy Bulloch did not even speak the lines for Boba Fett in the first place. There is no difference in one voice over from the other as far as I'm concerned, and I'd have to argue that such great lines as "He's mine." and "He's no good to me dead." are hardly revealing any information about the great Boba Fett. He had more lines in the Holiday Special than he did in the trilogy. While I admit he's a cool looking charecter I never really understood the obsession with Fett, I mean the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy gets killed by a blind man in a bad three stooges sketch. And I know he's not really dead, but remember the books are not cannon.

can someone please explain to me what makes Boba Fett so badass?

i mean i totally agree that he looks cool... but why is it that so many people make him out to be the best bounty hunter?
what did he ever do in the movies to make him so great?!?!

First welcome to the forums lostITlucas. I see that you are a Boba Fett fan, cool. Glad to have you around.

Now on to what I think. Changes at all are discouraged when one likes the OT best, no matter what. If I agreed with that hypothesis of changes of any kind I would HAVE to agree. However, if I think some changes CAN be good, here we have a solid reason for a change. It is an audio clue to the audience, Boba Fett is Jango Fett's clone. And yes, I know, EU can explain the differences where the helmet has a voice modulator, but you have to admit, being able to listen to it (the Jango/Boba voice) and not ask the question I personally think is better then having to turn to something over what many people, especially non-EU, might look as a mistake, since they are physically the same person. Now if we all can step back and look at the changes themselves, not our dislike of GL or his policies being in the observation, I think a movie explanation that eliminates a question is better then having to think of an answer to a question created by the original (insert here).

Here is another example, pure logic of changes that COULD be made that actually help. (Yet again, not thinking over GL and what he is doing with the original versions). Anyway, in the cantina in ANH, Obi-Wan cuts off the arm of an alien with his lightsaber. We see the arm on the floor, open and bleeding. Now which is better, logic-wise. Seeing the scene like that and having to think up some explanation OR have the arm changed in the movie to one sitting on the floor cauterized, no blood or opening, and in watching you don't question itbecause it matches all the other lightsaber wounds?

I think showing Boba Fett unmasked as a child with an annoying 'kiwi accent' in AOTC did a lot more to destroy any of the mystery behind this character, than unnessecarily redubbing any of his lines in Empire, wouldn't it have been a lot better in AOTC if they replaced Jango with Boba Fett as the original model of the clones, kept him masked, and didn't give any clues as to his age, or what species he was?

It was pointless trying to generate sympathy for the young orphaned Boba and in my opinion did as much harm to his character as Greedo shooting at Han first.

ya i kinda agree with buddy...
we dont need a backstory on every character in the SW universe...

do we have one for Lando or Han?

especially for someone like Boba i think a bit of mystery is good for a movie...

again Lucas seems to think we need EVERY scene and conversation explained in these movies..
and thats just not the case

It was a terrible casting decision having Morrison play Jango, at least apply an American accent. The New Zealander accent for both Jango and Boba is terrible, and modifying the OT to match this bad casting decision? FUBAR!

I guess you have a point, a yank's accent or a sheep shagger's ... hmm... yeah I'd have to go with the yank accent. Marginally.

Indian accent! That would be a riot...

But don't forget that in that very same frame, they show that worm creature with the little heart beside it.

Also noteworthy is the picture of Greedo that his mom holds in court with him in the little sailor suit with the big lollipop. Classic.

Actually, I didn't mind Jango at all, but I do mind changing Boba. The original actor actually sounds pretty close as it is, why change it? This is definallu a case of SNAFU.

I agree. Boba has a really cool voice before and I believe it is possible for a clone to have a slightly different voice. Same as an identical twin can have a slightly different voice.

Well, on the one hand the change I suppose is more in continuity and that's cool, but on the other, oh damn it GL, just release the OT with it!
