I haven't been able to analyze the entire film yet, but I can clear up a few things already:

- The 'window there - not there' effect when Lando leads Han, Chewie and Leia to Vader is still there.

- Boba Fett's original voice replaced with Jango Fett's voice (sounds far too clear and unraspy, very sloppy job - even for fans of this change it'll be hard to understand the lack of passion involved when implementing this change).

- Luke does NOT scream anymore during his "I'd rather die than join you" gesture, plunging himself down the giant ventilation shaft of Bespin.

- The Imperial officer's rank insignia having the wrong color (black instead of blue) has been fixed.

Another thing I noticed, but was not sure if it was in the SEs as well: After the "Notify my stardestroyer to prepare for my arrival." (no they haven't reverted it back to "Bring my shuttle!", just lowerd the pitch a tiny bit to make it fit in with the ESB tone of voice) scene, you see Vader and his vassals walk outside of the building towards a landing platform. This shot seemed new to me, but I'll have to snag my SE tapes to check it.

Btw, in RotJ the Luke/Leia dialogue about their mother was not tampered with in the version I saw (but the Emperor's death was 'digitally enhanced' and the rebel fleet moving away from the deathstar is now cgi ships moving away from the about-to-explode battlestation with noticeable speed).

I'll be back with more news from the "Palpie's phone call" scene.

I have to borrow some smilies from another board for this...

Why???
Why was that kind of change necessary?

I think I know what happened to GL.
He was out camping one day, and a badger crawled up his rear end and the pain has made him slowly go insane.

(Yes, that is from a SNL clip...had Christopher Walken in it)

Yeah, that´s AMAZING quality! Can´t wait to pop those suckers in my Pioneer 656 on my 32" Sony monster come september 20th. Expecting some sweet results. I´ll just have to close my eyes and pop in the earplugs occasionally during "special sections" of the films if you know what I mean...

- That lame change was already in the 97 SE. That´s Lucas letting us know EXACTLY where Vader went and what he was going to do next. It´s just silly! "Bring my shuttle" absolutely finalized that scene with Vader sounding very pissed off and evil. Fitting very nicely with his body language. Just as it should be.

Yep, that shuttle shot was there in 97. As for the ships and Palpatines death, could you supply pics? I've heard nothing of these changes.

Made for IE Forum's Episode III theme month - May 2005.

Interesting info, but honestly that is just insane to actually try to get from EBay, I haven't found it yet, but the ESB Rip is already out there, more reasonable way to survive the wait.

AAAaaaahhh... I just found another ESB change. Not only did they change Boba Fetts voice to Jango Fetts voice - they also changed the sound of his 'automobile' Slave I to match up with the engine sound they designed for it in Ep2.

@Klingon_Jedi: I may provide a screenie of the emperor's death, as well as the fleet (although you obviously won't see it moving).

While I don't like changing Bobas voice I do like improving the sound of his ship. It sounds like a good change.

Actually I checked the original theatrical cuts and noticed that they actually didn't change the sound in the footage that exists in the original cuts, but they added another short shot of Slave I cruising through the debris, where it's engine sound transitions into the sound familiar from ep2.

That sounds very cool. A very good change. Can you verify it?

I thought it was pretty good. I wish that JEJ didn't have such limited lines in it, but I think it will flow nicely with the rest of the film now.

*wonders if there is a 'going postal' smiley anywhere on the internet.

I'm at a total loss for words. I'm not sure I cannot even describe my thoughts on this change.

In the opening crawl, it says "The evil lord Darth Vader, obsessed with finding young Skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space..."

Maybe this is just my interpretation, that says to me that he knows the name Skywalker already.
Now, Lucas has screwed that up, by now having the Emperor reveal who it is.

I cannot believe to what ends purism seems to be driving people. I cannot believe after watching that scene the way it should have been from the start, people...... purists especially........honestly........want....monkey-eyes. I cannot fathom it, I'm sorry. And as for Vader being obsessed with young Skywalker, then says "How is that possible?". Don't you get it, he's LYING? Is that impossible for a Sith of all people! I'm not mad at anyone, don't me wrong, but this is a thousand times better then that excuse of hack for an Emperor. What I saw just then was the real and true Emperor. I think to me, this will go down as one of my favorite changes, right with Ben and Vader's lightsabers, fixed snowspeeders, and fixed Rancor.

As a sidenote, please don't think I don't respect your opinion, I'm just having a hard time understanding it. And yes, I did sign the petion, etc.... but I just don't get it. Call me Lucas butt kisser all you might want to, but I like it very much. That's my two cents.

Thank you. I totally agree this is a very good change. The change to the wampa is still my favorite Special Edition change. Changes like Haydens head or Greedo shooting first are one thing I can understand. I too can't phathom why anyone would want to watch emty cities, hidden monsters, fuzzy lightsabers, matt lines, dewbacks that don't move, blobs under land speeder, or an old women Emperor with chimpanzze (not monkey) eyes.
