Sorry Kristhemovieman - neither of those links work (for me, anyway).

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within : About : Help : Site Rules : Fan Project Rules : Announcements
How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com; some info & answers + FAQs - includes info on how to search for projects and threads on the OT•com

A Project Index for Star Wars Preservations (Harmy’s Despecialized & 4K77/80/83 etc) : A Project Index for Star Wars Fan Edits (adywan & Hal 9000 etc)

… and take your time to look around this site before posting - to get a feel for this place. Don’t just lazily make yet another thread asking for projects.

Are they any different than the anaorphic or TR47 sets we're already sharing for free?
What do you mean there's no ice? I gotta drink this coffee hot?!

This is the very same Dual Layer Set that TR47 was talking about on the pillerman.net site here

All the specs on this set are Here and the video quality is that of the TR47 set

Quote

"Anyone who already has TR47's set should not worry about needing to upgrade – the differences in the two are generally subtle and I certainly wouldn't consider them worth the $30 investment. These dual-layer discs are better packaged: while TR47 has been including a CD-R full of different cover art files for some time, you still end up with bare and unlabeled DVD-R's that you have to find a case for and print covers for"

The picture quality is nowhere near that of my set. Please don't insult me by making false statements. You can check my review here:

Dude - I quoted your site - Using the wording from your site it shows yours is BETTER + What false statements?
After reading your review It would seem that the DL set is not near as good as yours for the actual video transfer but it seems loaded with special features.

AND did you not notice that I already included a link to your site????

Yes, TR47 your set is nice and there was NO insult implied at all.

Please calm down dude your being WAY over protective of your TR47 Original Trilogy DVD set

This is what I meant-the video is not "that of the TR47 set", it isn't anywhere close. One other thing-that isn't my website, it is run by Jim Prillaman, he just posts reviews and contact info there. If he thinks the video is the same, then he obviously hasn't done a real comparison or his TV is subpar. I'm only asking you to get your facts straight before posting.

These are bootlegs and sometimes bad ones dude.

The quality is dubious at best for all the sets even yours.

If you don't think that the pillerman.net site reviews your stuff to your liking don't send him your stuff after reading trhe review of the Dual Layer Set the average reader will come to their own opinion based on how it is read.

My impression is it's not much worse than yours - You can send me a copy on loan (I'll mail it back to you) or another unbiased person (AND WE SHOULD LET THE FORUM CHOOSE the reviewer BASED on System setups) so WE as a forum can best determine if it really is worse then yours.

I feel that the pillerman.com site is kinda biased toward you and i'm sure others share this feeling also.

Your set is very nice and everyone likes it hell I even love the sound on your set.

And those are the facts -

I'd be more than willing to allow an unbiased 3rd party to review all the sets, assuming they had high quality equipment and some techincal knowledge to do so. I do agree that Prillaman's site does favor my set (with the constant links to the review), but it's probably because he feels it's the best of the 3.

"This bickering is pointless", I don´t get why no one just posts screenshots, preferably 24bit .bmp to preserve the best image quality possible and let everyone compare all the available sets on their own. Of course this is different from seeing the actual images on movement and the sound couldn´t be compared through this method but it would give an starting point.

Another option would be to make small sample vob files from each bootleg for better comparison, that is if someone would like to take the time and can host them.
I wish I had a Kryptonite cross, because then you could keep both Dracula AND Superman away.

Well I wont be able to help out with the Dual Layer version, but I will be doing a comparison between the TR47 and the Anamorphic versions shortly. I will be using the following equipment for the review:

To judge picture quality:
36" Sony Wega
51" Hitachi LCD Rear Projection TV
Sanyo Z1 Front Projector (approx 100" screen)

To judge sound quality:
Denon 3802 Receiver
Energy Veritas Speakers
SVS 16-46 Subwoofer

All calibrated by AVIA.
