Thanks for the reply. The fact that you are using a LCD front projector is probably one of the reasons the anamorphic set looks better than the TR47 version. As I said before I am awaiting the anamorphic set to see which I personally prefer. I would agree that the quality from one version to another greatly depend on the equipment people are using. I only have a 32" TV, so who knows if I'll even notice a difference between the two. I will be taking both versions over to a couple of friends houses who have much better equipment than myself to do a comparison (one has a Sanyo Z1 front projector and the other has a 50" Hitachi LCD Rear Projection HDTV). All of our sets are calibrated using AVIA. The one advantage my setup has is that I have two identical dvd players hooked up, so its extremely easy to sync up both versions and flip back and forth to compare; where on my friends setups we'll have to watch a few minutes, then swap discs and watch the same scene again. Anyway, I'll be sure to post my opinion in the thread you mentioned.![]()

I have the Faces (open and my favorite set ), Definitive (sealed), Widescreen Versions (just got em off eBay) and the Special Edition Box Set.
