Star Wars DVD Covers — Page 17

I'd just like to remind people that these are NOT my covers, they are another person's and I do not have access to high-res versions; what you see is what I have.

And actually it was Disney that screwed us over, but we haven't been able to carry Lucasfilm covers for about a year now, six months or so before the site closed. That was because we had covers up for the bootlegs probably, but afterwards we didn't allow non-official covers.

What do you guys think about the green saber? I have access to that art, and if you'd like my covers to use the green saber rather than blue I'll do it.

That site basicly got colsed because it was charging money for printing custom covers and for charging money for subscription to the site to cover hosting costs. Disney, LucasArts, Miramax and some other got upset because its copyright infingement to use any kind of material they own (in this case names, logos and pictures to make the custom covers).

I *HAVE* to have a set of those covers!!! Do you know who the artist is? The actual name of the files? Any *hint* of where we can search/find these covers?!?

I know who the artist is. Just don´t know whether I should talk about it here.

Here is what it looks like when printed out.

Those are some seriously sweet covers. Perhaps you should ask the artist if he'd be willing to make them available to the forum. No harm in asking afterall, worst he can say is no, then we'll just have to get innovative and recreate them ourselves

Just mailed to let him know. He has made some really nice stuff. Even a new cover to fitt a carboard box housing all 6 movies! I also suggested him to register here as a member. We´ll see what he says.

Is that the glare off of the plastic of the DVD case, or is that chrome actually shiny?

Well, this is actually a test print on regular white paper. Of course, the plastic shines a bit, but I´m not sure how much chrome-ish the cover actually is...as I don´t have them.

Anyway, here is a look what the 6 disc artwork looks like. Stilll, this is "Work in progress". Not sure what the symbol means. Maybe it´s the Rebel Alliance logo.

Yeah, that's the Alliance logo, you'll notice it on Lukes X-Wing helmet

Can anybody post a hi res version of this cover, and the other two that accompany it?

I tried Rikter's cover archive torrent but it won't do anything on my computer.

Since he has taken it off of the torrent thread, go to www.myspleen.com and get it there.

The printout preview posted is what you get when printing the cover on silver foil-like paper or on a transparent placed in front of a silver / chrome like background. Because of the reflective nature of the material they're printed on it's almost impossible to get a good shot of what they look like when printed out. It really looks good though.

The boxset spines ligned up:

Flat preview of the ROTJ cover (mind you, the front and spine hadn't been finalised yet back then, the above posted preview is the final version):

I'll make arrangements so you can dowload em. Just keep em to yourself ;-)

That would be mine and it's not on there; I'll get the covers to Rikter or someone who can host them, I just have no means to do so at this time. And they now have the "Star Wars" text on the logo:

I have an alternate green-saber cover now:

I'm still not sure what I like; the blue fits with the poster, the green fits with the movie...

Scara, thanks for coming over and allowing us to use the dvd covers.....they are the best I have seen. (One of the best anhway)

ChainsawAsh, I like the green saber better than the blue... also, if you need me to host your files, let me know.

I'm loving these new recent excellent cover works!

Can't wait for hi res versions of Soulflare's remarkable covers!

Chainsawash, could you email them to me?
My adress is kmshelton at earthlink.net
Thanks.

Soulflare, have you thought about making Criterion-ish covers for the prequels as well?
That'd be killer, some prequels to match the OT covers you made.
Instead of saying "The Unathorized Collection", maybe saying "The Prequel Collection" or something else.

And do you know when you'll post a link to hi res versions? I'd love to have them on my TV stand.
