Thanks for the link, RobinHood! Nothing terribly new, but it is nice to see it all collected in one place, without it being broken up by Lucas-worship and other such things.

Could you flesh out the details on that, along with sources? You say it so matter-of-factly.

Me too... It looks like he IS there... Holograms are supposed to look bad!

Someone who claims he has seen the 2004 edition of The Empire Strikes Back said that. I am not sure he is telling the truth but I hope he is.

As far as I know, only the ROTJ version leaked to the 'net.

Doesn't the Ghost Jedis have a bluish tint too? Maybe this change was made not to confuse the audience... I think it's the first time in the OT that we see a life size hologram. Maybe in the ROTJ time era, technology has improved and the holograms are better; we have already seen better technical displays: the Death Star II plans hologram.

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

Yep - R2 got a new hologram emitter after Luke thought it would REALLY impress Jabba to see him in full color

Maybe Luke missed a trick in ROTJ - he should have sent a hologram of Leia instead, I'm sure Jabba would have been more receptive...
