Yeah I like the look of that 4 disk cover.

And just a note to anyone in the UK:

If your gonna get the Official DVDs but you prefer the Gold Box then you can get it only at HMV.

But I prefer the Silver Box.

^ the gold box for both widescreen and fullscreen?

it's a nice looking box set - think it may be based on the Jedi Outcast games for the front cover.

Hello fellow Original Trilogy fans...

Well I been reading the forums for a month now, and really like the work being done on these covers.
And actually I had created my own covers a few months ago when I got a copy of the LD release on DVDr.
I was actually inspired by what Prillaman had done... and I wanted to have them match the current
DVDs out for Episode I & II. And while these may look like some other releases I think they more closely
match what Lucasfilm has done.

So with out further delay...

ANH
ESB
RotJ

Also if you wish to other covers I have done go Here.
(Btw the Clone Wars is a WIP there are some things I am going to change.)

A small nitpick about most of these covers: the little banners that say Digitally Mastered.

But... they aren't digitally mastered are they? Weren't they digitally *Re*Mastered?

My stance on revising fan edits.

If its a Rip from the LD's then no, if its the SE's then yes...
also i don't think anyone has a stock eps file for the THX logo w/ Digitally Re-Mastered on it, just
the THX logo that says Digitally Mastered, which is quite common on the net.

Cool covers, mageguru - I kind of like the roman numerals with the more original poster art.

Though I always get a little worried when I see the numbers '1997' on the back of a cover (ANH)...

That is one cool 'inksaver' dvd cover set - only drawback for me is that the colouring of some of the lettering is brown (not black) which I'm not a big fan of - I've been trying to experiment with changing the colours but have had no joy so far...

IMHO the front looks good, but unfortunetly the back cover leaves a lot to be desired, it actually looks worse.
Specifically, the text layout is isn't done very well, text should be justified on both sides, and not
so close to images. or only having one line wrapping around an image.
Also the 'gold' used looks a bit drab to me.

mageguru, thanks for your thoughts. It's sometihng I threw together and didn't spend much time on....as far as the text goes, I'd have to agree.... I acutually copied and poasted the back text from another cover instead of typing it myself (which I should have done). It's not a cover I would even use.... like I said just a little thing i threw together of out boredness.

By the way, does anyone have any links to some high quality jpegs of the Struzan Original Trilogy poster art (or any of the old OT art) suitable for printing onto photo paper and hanging up?

OK just to let you know... The ANH cover has been updated with the correct date...
The link is the same.

Oh and I am redoing my DVD labels also, and they will be for large center opening style labels.

Yes, I noticed the brown lettering color. So I changed all the text into black in Photoshop. Took some time, though, but it was well worth it. I printed them out on thick white textured stock paper. Now, the minimalistic "inksaver" cover set are truly awsome. These covers really stand out in its own as I don´t care much for the ones that look like the Ep. 1 & 2 cover style with the gold spine.

mageguru - nice work m8

robinhood - hope to see the black text on white TDC covers around, there is something special about that style of cover, and it's always good to have an alternate or inksaver version of as many covers as poss.
