Hardcore Legend, where is this from? You sound check out the main SW websites, but I must be going to the wrong ones. Where did that link come from?

check milleniumfalcon.com, TFN, and Hometheatreforums for discussions about this. The DVD can be gotten from IRC, and instructions can be found at those various sites. However, I warn against it or you may feel the wrath of the Empir....I mean Lucasfilm.

Looks like you beat me to the video. Here a few other cleaned up/new shots I found on another message board as well:

The Rancor's Legs - a little too large to post on here (it stretches the board).

Seeing that video just pisses me off. Why can't Lucas leave Shaw Sebastian alone? It looks so out of place too, even though they made it blend in smoothly.

Hot Rod...you need a Divx codec on your computer for you to be able to view the video...but be warned--it'll cause you nothing but pain and will cause a long stream of obscenities to flow out of your mouth. You'll hate it, you'll loathe it, you'll want to bury George Lucas and Rick McCallum alive and wrapped in each other's embrace after you see it.

I am pissed off beyond words.

I feel the same way. I personally hope they get their asses sued off by whoever represents Shaw Sebastian (even though I don't know if they can get sued just for that, but I hope so). I've lost nearly all respect for them now that it turns out they've actually done this change.

No, they can't get sued. Lucas has final say on all cuts of material. The only way he could get sued is if he removes Shaw from the credits or edited it in a way that was defamitory to Shaw personal character.

Well, I've seen it......I was expecting that........

He's changing the films to fit with the prequels, I can understand why.....
It just needs to be explained in 3 to make any fucking sense!

Yeah, I didn't really think so, but I was still hoping. It would be payback for making an extremely stupid change. Thank goodness they left Shaw when Darth Vader's helmet gets taken off, though.

For me, this change is nearly as bad as Greedo shooting first, and changing Boba Fett's voice (if it turns out to be true) will also be up there. I can't stand them messing with characters.

It is indeed a sad day. This is worse than when he killed off Vader using Shaw without David Prowe's knowledge. The Naboo celebration scene is also him trying to tie the OT into the PT, when it should be the opposite. What's next, he outright disowns the OT, claims the PT are the films he always wanted to make, just the "technology" wasn't there, then makes IV-VI from scratch with new character, actors, and plot? Heck, he could say the EU isn't cannon any more while he's at it. Where does it end? You now have another plothole at the end of Jedi(the first being Coruscant, a hotbed of Imperial supporters, celebrating the Emperors death, especially since unless you've read the novel like me, you had no freaking clue as to what planet that is.) I'm really surprised he didn't remove Guinness in favor of McGregor. Perhaps he thought fans would be more offended that Obi-Wan gets changed than Anakin Skywalker. BTW, I see no mention of leaked video on TF.N or Jedinet.com.

The sad part is that there are people on TFN who are thinking that all of these changes are the greatest thing to ever happen in the history of cinema. I have to admit, though, that, bad as it may seem, the Anakin change is growing on me...slightly.

Or is that defeatism setting in? Realizing that Lucas can't be beaten and being tempted to hop on his bandwagon? I want official DVD releases more badly than I thought I did, because I'm starting to consider buying these. Does anyone else feel the same way, or am I just weak-willed when it comes to Star Wars?

Looks like the 97 Special Editions bootlegs will definately need to be purchased now, isn't it scary to think kids that have grown up with the prequel trilogy might only get to see the 2004 original trilogy.

Fight the Darkside, Galahad. Jealousy, hopelessness, laughing fanboys, the ignorent masses, the Darkside are they. Easily they corrupt, quick to disillusion we of the light. I'm fighting, Klingon, I'm fighting. For my ally is the 1993 Definitive Edition transferred on DVD, and a powerful ally it is.
Thanks Klingon, I really needed that. I've got my set from Rikter, and that'll be more than adequate for now.

surely when they cast Hayden in the first place it was intended that he had to look believable as a younger version of Sebastian Shaw, the same way as Ewen was cast as a young Alec Guiness, they obviously didn't beleive continuity was that important when casting Hayden as a replacement for Jake lloyd ten years down the track, as he bears little or no physical resemblance to Jake lloyd?

I thought that there was meant to be some sort of equity guidelines regarding replacing an original actors performance after the act.
just as well Sebastian Shaw is dead, because they've just cut him out of the biggest role of his career, he'd be rolling in his grave (funeral pyre) It just shows the contempt that George Lucas has for his actors.
