Work in progress, rough-cuts, unfinished work etc and other 'reasons' for the changes over the years...

Why didn't he say at the time (and every time) this version is not the finished one - there's gonna be another (and another)and you lot are going to have to pay for it if you want it?

I wouldn't have bought a picture off an artist if he was later going to tell me it's not finished, he's going to come around in a couple of years time and re-do it a bit - and charge me for it.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

10-15% sounds right. But I think she made the 5% claim because someone else in that thread was complaining that only that much was actually changed and that is too miniscule an amount to complain about. Instead of arguing percentages with the guy, she decided to just make the point using his figure. Still works. It would just be a lot more poop on the plate using Scumb's amended analogy.

I prefer scumbs analogy, because it doesn't matter how much crap was on my food... even if it was only a tiny bit I still wouldn't want it. If I was to eat that meal, every trace of excrement would have to be removed. In other words, I would want the original meal, never the "special" meal...

I think the comparison to too much salt is better because, no offense, as a moderate on the issue of the SE you sound a bit fanatical talking about poop, but then again perhaps that was your intent.

Crap works better, because you can put a little salt on a meal and it is still edible. But if you put even the tiniest little bit of "poop" (as you Americans call it) on a meal it is inconceivable that you would touch it with a barge pole. That's how I feel about the SE personally. I don't want to see even the shortest bit of new footage, I want it as it was. Now I know some people might think, surely 10 seconds of footage doesn't make any difference? But it's the fact that it's there, when it doesn't need to be. If it aint broke - don't fix it. IMO Star Wars aint broke. Maybe others feel differently.

Crap works in the sense that any amount will turn you off. It may be disgusting, but we are trying to prove that even the smallest amount of change to the OT is a turn off. So you need to appeal using a comparison in which even a tiny amount will turn you off.

However, if you want to make a comparison using incremental changes to show how much more distasteful something can be, then the salt analogy works better. Look at the changes GL made for the SE. Now even more changes for the 2004 release. Finally, another set of changes for the 2007 UE. As each happens, he is adding progressively more salt to the recipe and making it even nastier tasting with each round of changes.

Oh dear God help us. Isn't Woody and Sun Yi enough for the world to digest? Do we really need to have a CGI Shirley Temple. Hell, I couldn't stand the real Temple let alone a CGI version.

Oh she was so cute, and smart, and such a great actress and dancer... I wonder why there aren't lots of movies staring a CGI Shirley Temple by now. Maybe they're waiting for her death to happen.

Meanwhile, at this moment, the 80+ year old Shirley Temple is sitted next to her swiming pool, dressed as she was in the 30s, with a cigarette holder on her trembling right hand, and a martini on her left hand, saying stuff like: "Hah... No my life still sucks. My girl left me. She gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her enough or something I don't know I wasn't really paying attention. She never put out. Not once.
